Anybody heard much in terms of a rockered park ski for this year? I know Atomic is rolling out two "park-rockered" skis that are 80% camber, 10% rocker at either tip, but I haven't seen much else out there. Having owned a set of Punx before, I am partial to Atomic and would love a new set. But, I'm curious if anybody else is rolling out a badass rockered twin-tip with park skiing in mind. Any thoughts?

There's heaps of rockered park skis. Chronic, Blend, LTC, Alpha, Future spin, Ledge, Sight, B-dog, PB&J, Candide, Filthy Rich just to name a few

Word, OK. For some reason, I feel like I didn't see much when I started looking. I'll have to do some research. Really want to switch it up to something rockered this year. I've kinda shifted focus a little bit as I don't ski as much park as I have in the past. Still probably 60/40 park/all-mountain, but after some injuries I've toned down my park skiing a bit. I just want something that will shred groomers/light pow in the early AM, and will rip up the park where I spend my afternoons/nights.

If you want to see a crazy amount of rocker on park skis then check out the surface outsider, surface one life and surface odyssey. Its insane and i think its pretty dope.

I haven't been on here in a while so please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but did't surface have some durability issues? Obviously, they're dope skis but I remember people having trouble with them. Hope that's all sorted out.

I have surface double times and surface watch lifes and they are fine in durability. They are built strong and they will last you. If you ski park any park skis get wrecked over time anyway. In my experiences surface makes sick skis and they won't let you down in performance

I narrowed my search down to a few skis with varying strengths, but all kind of a park-rocker style.

Armada Alpha X - The Alpha has always intrigued me with its aggressive side cut. I like the overall build of the ski and it looks like it rips, which is what i NEED. Love the park-rocker on this one. I like the moderate waist, never skied a ski this wide (comparatively, of course) before.

Atomic Punx - Had Punx back in 2011/2012 and they were my all time favorite ski so I naturally have to include them. Real contender for my heart right now. I like the narrow waist for park skiing and the light swing weight is ideal. Super poppy and park-rocker. Might have to demo these.

Salomon Rocker 2 100 - More of an all mountain ripper but I like the idea of it. I don't know much about it, but it seems like it might be what I'm looking for these days.

Any thoughts?

gonna be honest, you probably won't notice the rocker much on the punx since it's only 10%. it's not really rocker either, just early rise

so if you are looking for a real rocker feel, avoid those

I had that in mind but had to include those skis because 1. I loved my original Punx and if I hadn't broken them I would've skied them forever and 2. I want to be picking from a diverse group of skis. The Punx are the tried and true park ripper.

decent choices...

i think you would like the alphas (i actually almost bought these skis but ended up buying my kitten factories instead, so i did some extensive research on them.) this ski sounds exactly what you want. they are decently stiff, but still somewhat butterable note. i have actually flexed these. they have fast bases, cap construction in tip and tail. only con that i have found is that the race bases arent super durable. but in your case i think you would be just fine. my main reasoning for buying kittens was i could get thicker edges and thicker bases/ more durable for the same price.

The Alphas are a sick ski from the looks of it. I'm not too concerned with base/edge durability. I ski park often but it's a hobby more than a sport. I'm confident on rails (ie. i can slide both ways, have front and blind swaps, front and blind 2), but I won't be putting a hellish beatdown on these. I'm far more into flowy, poppy jump lines than I am rails. These seem like the have the right stiffness/flex profile for what I want to be doing.

Those sound like some fun choices for sure! The rocker 2 100 actually seem so sick and i am looking into those as well. I might stay with surface for my next ski though because i love the brand and their skis. Im looking into the odyssey or outsider for my next one ski quiver because they are a nice waist and have lots of rocker. The alpha is another ski i have been looking at to because they seem so fun. I love the shape of it to, the punx would be the best choice i think for park because they are really a full out park ski. The rockers or the alpha would take you more places with having fun because of the waist and rocker. They all seem sick though!

Yeah they used to be absolute shit when it came to durability. My buddy broke 3 pairs in 2 weeks. Luckily they fixed the problem(s).

i looked at them in my local shop and hated them their is almost no tail and the rocker is barely any different than a normal ski the on3p filthy riches have real tip and tail rocker.

My Jskis have a good amount of rocker in them and I have reason to believe they actually use butter to make the skis

Look into on3p kartel 98's. They are stiff but the rocker on them make them butter when you want to. They are pricey but they will last at least 2 seasons compared to anything else on the market.
