LUPTONIve heard painting your helmet actually degrades the plastic, not sure if this is fact, or urban myth.
Personally I would recommend Plasti Dip, A friend of mine did his helmet and it seemed pretty legit, and if its not what you want you can always just peel it off and re spray.
on a side note ive seen people spray paint their helmets and it always chips, and never looks as good as one may expect. Hopefully this is helpful.

Am_parkUnless you have high quality paint it will just crack and mess up the plastic
a_shaky_gifnot neccesarily, took mine to an actual car shop and they painted it for me...ive had no cracks or mess ups...
