What to expect this year in Tahoe

I know it is early but so far the precipitation levels in the Tahoe area are not promising. Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Washington, even the East Coast have received decent to insane snow levels. I was up at Squaw Valley yesterday just to see what they were up to and they arent even making snow, the higher mountain has a little bit but barely enough to cover the grass.

What should we expect this year? Below, average, or above average snow levels?

Idk how much longer Tahoe can take the little snow. The lake is so low and the mountains r losing a shit ton of money

I hope you guys do well, but like 3 years ago, the east coast had the worst snowfall it has ever had, while you guys had decent coverage, theres promise for you, you just never know. literally 4 days in the past week it has snowed at my house, and I live on the ocean in southern maine. Weather is so unpredictable lately.

tahoe has had 3 terrible years in a row, but the pessimists always seem to skip over the fact that 2011 was an EPIC snow year in tahoe. it'd really be awesome for something like that to happen again and bring the stoke back to tahoe

I dunno man, I lived in Tahoe for 4 years....First year was the 2010-11 winter, which was insane. But it seems like Tahoe is one of those places that was lucky enough to be in the path of some really insane storm cycles in an otherwise snow-less area, and things seem to have changed.

As depressing as it sounds, I really think that Tahoe is gonna be hurting most winters from here on out. I have a lot of Tahoe friends that have migrated to other spots in the country in search of something better.

I'm in mammoth and have been seeing more and more people move to places like Colorado or the PNW due to the lack of snow.

haha thanks for the responses. Sometimes I am optimistic about it, other times I am not. I recently just moved from the east coast here so I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Tahoe typically has a late season. So don't let the lack of current mw worry you. We might not get much snow, who knows, but if we do its not going to be for a little while longer

I have yet to get out there. Would mid to late Febuary be a good to to plan a trip to say Squaw or Heavenly on a typical season?
