Does anyone else suffer from tears/cuts on the inside ankle portion of their snowpants? I know companies like the north face and mountain hardwear have an extra layer there to prevent edges from cutting, but often times I wear snowboard company pants that dont provide that. Anyone have tips on how they have prevented this?
If you take a bad fall and you don't have kevlar reinforced cuffs there isn't much you can do to prevent cuts. On the upside these sort of cuts generally happen around your boot which means your boot will still protect you from getting wet for the most part.
If a cut is high enough to start letting water in, soaking your base layers, then I recommend tenacious tape or some other goretex tape that you find at camping stores. It's used to repair tents usually so it keeps your gear waterproof yet still breathable.
