Mounting different bindings on already mounted skis

So i have a pair of last years chronics that have never been skied but have been mounted once with fks bindings for a 27.5 boot. I have a pair of sth bindings that i can put on them but i was wondering if it would be a good idea or not to put them on for a pair of 28.5 boots.

I really don't like mounting a ski twice but if it has to be done then so be it... Where was the original binding mounted (center, 1cm back Etc)? That can have an effect on where the new binding will have to be mounted. Both bindings have different hole pattens also. Check with your local ski shop! i have done it once before and the only downside was i had to mount the new binding 1cm back. Having a 28.5 boot in the new binding will also help!

You will have no issues with the heel but the toe will be harder. The fks and sth toe print is pretty close. So going up one size will mean a change of only 5mm at the toe. Off the top of my head without seeing the jigs I would think there woul be some toe hole clashes. You may find you need to move the mount point forward by 5 mm to get clearance. Movin forward 5mm won't really feel much differnt so may be the best way to go. But take them to a shop and have them take a look a that will work.

General rule of thumb, is that a ski can be drilled and mounted 3 times. After that most respectable shops wont touch them.

The original binding was mounted center, and thats where i want the new bindings mounted too

shouldn't be a problem, but you might have to go back half a centimeter or so if the old holes are in the way of the new holes. half a cm aint shit.
