Good college with good skiing near by?

I'm at Plymouth State in NH and its the biggest joke of a college. Looking for something more challenging academically with good skiing nearby. Preferably out west since I'm moving there next year hopefully. Anyone go to a decent school where they still get good skiing in at good resorts?

If you end up staying on the East Coast, look at some NESCAC schools. They are some of the toughest schools and a few have good skiing near by. Middlebury has their moutain right on campus. Bates, Bowdoin, and Colby have Sunday River and Sugarloaf within an hour away. I went to Bates so I am slightly biased, but I was looking to go to a good school where I could also ski, so Bates worked for me.

the university of denver is a dope private school with somewhat rigorous academics and a ton of skiers. Mountains are about an hour and a half away from campus and the urban scene here is picking up

Western Washington U is really close to mt baker and always has a bunch of kids skiing urban on campus.

If you want to go to an actually good school as much as skiing go to NESCAC, Colby Bates and Bowdoin are all super good schools, plus they have dope skiing not that far away. You cant really get that kind of academics in proximity to ski mountains anywhere else in the US. Id check out McGill, which is a super good school and is 1.5 hours from Tremblant.

westminster college, U of U, UVU, SLCC.....all schools in utah like 30 minutes from four mountains, and tons more in the area

if you want a challenge academically come here and do the honors program the honors classes are challenging and never bigger than 30 people, even for freshmen. it's impossible to take all honors courses though the most they allow you to take is 3 at a time but that's for your sanity

bro, we were just establishing that there is nothing good about msu, I've heard if you're in the honors program they make you take all honors classes until you go insane, clearly utah is the best.

Lots of incredible resorts within an half hour drive of University of Utah & Westminster. They are not affiliated with the Mormon Church. Great schools, too! BYU is an LDS university..

News flash: you don't have spend 1000s a year to go skiing! If you want to focus on school, do that. If you want to go ski a bunch, do that. No sense compromising the two by doing both. Of course if you want to waste your money on one of the mostly worthless degrees handed out by the U of U that many morons on here use to justify their worthless existence, go for it.

For those in the Midwest that don't have the means of getting out west or east for college, check out NMU. Financially a solid deal, and some solid skiing. Currently 2 feet on the ground so I've been hitting handrails for the past couple days.

Saint Michaels....Stowe, Sugarbush, Jay Peak, Smuggs are all nearby and SMC has a pretty good academic reputation. You can easily have a car on campus and the parties are entertaining. Pretty similar area and feel to UVM, but its just a bit smaller if thats your thing.

if youre going out west and want a good school with lots of dedicated skiers, peep colorado college. kids skippin class left and right on pow days combined w/ righteous academics. gotta love it kehd

I will never understand why people find St Mikes attractive. I've never ever felt even mildly overwhelmed by UVM's size, and it would suck being outside reasonable walking distance from downtown Burlington.
