PowPirateIt's still pretty quiet at the moment, but starting to fill up with everyone coming for the winter, then there's always stuff going on. There's some cool bars with live music/dj's pretty much every night and there's a local brewery with some awesome beers. needs to hurry up and start snowing though.

PowPirateyeah for sure. you do get a shit load of people from Calgary here on the weekend though.

danncphedranOk but during the week it feels like a town. For sure better than banff or whistler. Those places are too commercialized

PowPirateyeah for sure i don't really have anything bad to say about fernie. i haven't really skied may other resorts over here though so i can't compare. i want to check out red, nelson, kicking horse and revelstoke before the season ends.

PowPiratehad a pretty slow start to the season but so did the rest of the kootenays. had an epic pow day over the 24/25th then a bit more on the 27th should get hit by a storm on the 3rd (figures crossed) so all is good :) was -25 today though but set to warm up a little the next few days.
pretty good base at the moment but another half a meter of snow would cover everything
nhjibberJust booked a trip to fernie Mid week first week in march. Heading up from SLC with a homie and picking another up in Whitefish along the way. Sooo stoked! Would love to meet up with some rippers who know the mountain/ backcountry well. Praying for snow for you guys!
danncphedranhey dude, I think im gonna be around the same time. Ive got an uncle who knows the area well. He is a old hotdogger but still skis pow with skinny skis haha, I know he would be down to take a bunch of people down the backcountry so just hit me up and I think I could get thinks rolling

PowPiratehaven't been up in a few days because of an injury but when i was up there on saturday it was pretty choppy. I'm gonna try go tomorrow so will report back when i know a bit more.
saskskierSo I ended up going yesterday and it was probably some of the worst snow I've skied. Granted things softened up a bunch in the afternoon, it was warm, not windy and the hill was empty, and we still had a good time, but my goodness the snow was bad. Hopefully you guys get some new stuff soon!
