Fks 120 vs marker griffon

I currently have marker squires on line afterbang 166's. And well the squires suck.... I weigh 130 and am 5 feet 7. i ride at a din of 8. I can get griffons and have them mounted in the same holes or get fks 120 and have new holes drilled. Should i go fks or griffon the skis have only been mounted one time so this would be the second. I ride all park.

people hate on griffons, but I love my pair. I have used them for over 100 days probably (almost all park) and they have held up fine. I would recommend them, especially if you already have your skis drilled for them.

If you're going to remount Griffons in the same holes as the Squires you might want to have them helicoiled or inserted. If not, you may experience a tear out.

On second thought that may not be necessary. Afterbangs are laminated maple, a pretty hard wood, so your binding retention may not suffer after a remount.

So Long as the binding is taken off carefully I would avoid using any type of heli coil or insert. The issue is if you have a pull out with an insert there really is no way to fix it. So I say only heli coil if you absolutely have to on a park ski. I have seen far to many park skis ruined that way.

I think you'll be ok remounting in the marker pattern with Griffons as long as they are carefull like the other poster mentioned. Consult with your shop/tech, see what they recomend and make an informed decision from there. Both of them are solid bindings.

Personally I woul try to reuse the holes if you can. No point remounting if you can upgrade and use the same holes.

ok i just have heard alot of mixed reviews with marker bindings in gereral so i am a bit hessitant to get another pair

The squire is not the same binding as the griffon at all, the griffon is much burlier. You could always get a jester if the din range works for you but griffons are good bindings.
