What is skiing?

Okay, I admit, the name of the thread is stupid. And most likely, some of you guys will not get why I am posting this, so whatever. Skiing to me is the one thing I am addicted to. It lowers my grades, it chooses my friends, when I can hang out, what I want to do everyday and many other things. However, for some reason, I cant stop strapping two planks to my feet and sliding over snow. When you put it this way, it doesn't sound so amazing does it? But, nonetheless, it brings us together. It gives us a way to communicate without talking. It is sort of a brotherhood, for lack of a better word. No matter what kind of skiing you like, no matter if you are Tom Wallisch or a kid who just went down the magic carpet for the first time, the feeling will never change. It will never be any better when you realize that you can do something new. This is what skiing is to me. And I don't think I'll ever love something as much as I love skiing.
