What is the biggest sacrifice you have had to or decided to make for skiing?

So every spring break my family goes on a trip somewhere tropical and the last few years as i have gotten more into skiing, I have been enjoying them less and less. I'm always caught up in skiing and how im missing rail jams and sorts of things going on. So this year I convinced my parents to let me stay and go skiing instead of going to Aruba.

What is the greatest sacrifice you have had to make for skiing?

Doing a 2 year program at a community college instead of going to one of the universities I was accepted to. Which allowed me to ski over 100 days a season. Now I'm an assistant manager of a ski shop, make a good enough salary to live, and still ski about 80 days a year. So do I regret it? No! Was it major sacrifice that will affect the rest of my life especially finically. Yes. Sorry you don't want to go on a cruise with your mommy, can I take your place?

Every relationship I have ever had, college, sober all ski season, Selling the dream car I spent a whole year building from the ground up for skiing, competition, traveling bills. Any sort of tropical vacation sense I started getting into skiing ect... and my life on the east coast to move out west , where I plan on making more sacrifices for as many years as possible as long as I can have the excuse to do what I love every day in the winter because nothing beats it!

Working 40+ hours a week at little caesars plus school. I think I'm going to have to return my new 3ds Xl smash bros edition too :(

was offered the opportunity to go to a well funded high school basketball program a few years back, unfortunately it meant i would be pushed to get 1 week of skiing a year. I very often think where id be now if i had decided to go through with it.

Agh fuck dude I wanted to quit hockey so and this year but my parents wouldn't let me :(. But whatever I'll just ski every single day I don't have hockey

well before skiing i used to have money and go to party with bitches, now i gotta settle for girls that want to talk to a greasy, poor, long haired, and bearded guy with a subaru that has more kilometers (miles) than i'll gross in 5 years

what's with parents and their hockey boners. I played hockey till I was 18 because I enjoyed it, but I wonder what my parents would have said if i decided to quit to partake in a non organized team sport? I know a lot of my friends parents would have been choked

Since about half way through high school I have shaped my life around skiing, so to this day, I don't feel as though I've truly 'sacrificed' anything per say for skiing. I did move away from my life in Ontario after school, which some could look at as a sacrifice I suppose.

What I will say though is as the years go by I think more and more about what could have been, and what opportunities I missed due to having blinders on for skiing. I try to keep the mentality of 'no regrets' alive, so it's not like I get depressed about the would have, could haves - but it IS something I think about now and then.

Don't get down. The grass is always greener on the other side. I threw my blinders away and I have days when I think of the could have should haves if I had taken time off to bum it.

first off my knees are fucked... But i did recently drop out of college to go work at my local ski shop in Ontario. Working full time while living with my grandma so that i can move out west in the springtime. Have been in a relationship for 3 years now and she wants to come to BC with me... but still hasn't tried skiing. She used to snowboard:0
