So since there was the thread on how much this year, I decided to ask, how much do you think you have spent your life towards skiing.

Alot, I used to race too and racing skis/boots/downhill suits are expensive as fuck. Easily over 30k

i make a conscious effort to not think about it because its a ridiculous number. it seriously makes me feel like a fucking idiot sometimes (mostly in the summer), but when winter rolls around its all good.
my favorite justification: can't put a price on happiness :)

Alot of money! I've been paying for my own skiing for probably the past 15 years (prior to that it was on the parents dime). New kit, lift tickets, travel. That really adds up over time.
But probably most importantly is the potential earnings/career that I've sacrificed! I used to be quite the brainy kid who worked hard at school. But then once I finished school I spent the season working at a ski hill. Then breezed through uni getting average/poor grades because I was skiing as much as possible. Then after skiing I mostly worked jobs to allow me to ski. My school/uni friends are now in serious jobs earning serious salaries, and I'm, well, not.
I don't care though. My ski memories are worth a lot more than cars and mortgages!
