I Just bought a pair on J Skis "Whip-It Inspired". Just wondering how you would compare these to other park skis. Any reviews would be appreciated.

The only way to get them is online. There is a 30 day return policy so I'll be fine if I don't like them.

Come and live in the UK, can only demo on the indoor slopes so most us have to buy on judgement.

So you demo every ski you buy? where are you from? because here in the midwest there are not many shops that do demos especially on park skis?

I've had the lucky opportunity to demo all 3 of J's skis. It's kinda hard to compare to "other park skis" ...thats pretty broad. What I can say is that if you are thinking they will be in the same vein as "Line" skis (because JLev is behind them) than you would be wrong. They are far superior in quality in every way. (I guess thats the difference between a ski made in Quebec and a ski made in China)

Whipits are super durable; the beefy edges will stand up to lots of abuse (I can't say how many other park skis edges Ive cracked.) Very easy to butter, but still stiff underfoot so they feel nice and stable on rails/big booters. Rugged topsheet/base/sidewall. Jib everywhere and everything - lots of energy. Still carves up the mountain with great edge hold all day (but lets be honest, you didn't buy these to rip races gates) Just a blast to ride, defiantly a top tier park/all mountain ski. Your gonna dig 'em, the inspired graphic is pretty sexy too imo.

I have a pair of Armada Halo 2's now. I absolutely love them, also very high quality, fun ski. But they just aren't as much fun to ride as the J's. I'd like to buy a pair of the all plays myself in the future.

Great, thanks for the review. I have very high expectations for these skis. Didn't know what I was getting myself into buying them online.

Exactly this. I buy my skis based on reviews of them (because I usually get last years model on sale). I use a bunch of buyer's guides from magazines and the review section here. It's usually tough to find the skis that I am looking to pick from in a store that will allow me to try them out, so I buy them based off of what everyone else thinks.

Yes I compared specs with other skis for a couple weeks before I decided to buy them.

I feel like demo park skis are not a thing in most shops.

Anyway OP, be sure to review these after some use, and don't pull punches when you do.

Definitely shop dependent. I demoed a pair of Al Dentes last year from a shop and when I was returning them the shop tech gal looks at the bases, then at me totally disappointed "you didn't take these in the park did you?"

"Uhhhhhh, nope"

I'm certainly hoping to get on some of the smaller brands as part of the gear program this year. I'm a big fan of demoing but clearly from this thread this an be hard for many people and even harder with the brands you don't see in shops. Hopefully between us in the gear program we can get on and test a lot of the skis ns are interested in and make your ski choices easier in the future.

i have the "firsts". literally only been on them 7 days in a row but I'm stoked as hell on them. Fun everywhere, butter everything, euro carve everything. Can not say a bad thing.

They haven't been out there long enough to get a fair test either way. I tend to give most brands the benefit of the doubt for two seasons to get their stuff together.

come to chile, you cant demo any ski, there was a demo a couple of years ago from armada skis and thats it.....

what do you suggest other than looking for reviews and all that??????

it's kind of hard for some of us to demo skis.... that's why we look for a lot of reviews so we can make a somewhat educated buyer's choice haha.
