my friend bought a pair of atomic infamous's (this years) and just got them mounted with some look spx 12's i think aaannnd he got the shop to order them for him cause the shop is sick. so now you are wondering "okay sick he got some awesome new skis!" but no... He got them not knowing what size was best for him.... the guy at the shop said it would be good but im not quite sure.

My friend is 5'2 and he ordered 151's he is a amazing skier but this is his first year ever doing park (same wiht me) and i was wondering is he fucked?? are 151's to short? he is really worried they are and he bought them with his own money so he cant just go and grab mommys credit card and buy another pair.

so please can you guys help. are these to short for him? +k

That's a good size for him. They'll be just round his face so he'll be fine.

i'm 5'2 riddin bdog in 170, id go 165-170, lot more stable on jumps n rails.

if he is amazing skier like you say he is, he should go longer. least 168 or 170

As a beginer in the park and at 5'2 he really does not want to be on anything longer. They will be great for him.

In my opinion, with him being a beginner and all they will be a good fit, easier to get used to. It is all personal preference, some people like longer skis(most people on this forum), some like short, like myself. I'm 6'2 and have 171 park skis. That may seem like they are way too short but they actually line up with the middle of my face and I ski them all over the mountain apart from powder. Weight is also a factor, if he's slim then again they will be fine.

i'm pretty sure there not to big for me, been skiing 171 for way over 5 years. and still do the same as if i was on my 160 ar5 from way back in the day.

hes fucked. lol no, if were going solely off height a 151 will be fine. It'll be easier for him to learn to spin and jib on a shorter ski, yes longer skis are more stable but you notice that once you start going bigger. Off a 15 footer or a 20 footer will it drastically make a difference? I doubt it. Once you start hitting big big stuff like 50+ feet yea I could see the longer ski being beneficial. As long as your friends not obese and doesn't weigh a ton, a 151 is a great size for him. If he's super fat yea maybe the next size up, but I'm assuming he's a short, little average sized feller.

the size is okay for him but is def a bit short and def doesnt have size to grow into. if he's a great normal skier and these are his first twins, theyre going to feel even smaller. also what's his weight, and what are his size preferences?

a good starting point before factoring in skill and preferences and style is your height, so for him that'd be 157ish. so yeah he's a beginner and he might want to size down but he's not going to be a beginner forever esp if he's already good at skiing itself. how soon does he plan to buy new skis? if it's not soon i don't think he'd want to go so small

but remember, don't worry, theyll work great regardless. we skiers have a habit of way overthinking all this shit and letting it get in the way of enjoying the sport sometimes

yeah that last part is true haha.
but yes he already mounted them soo he couldnt really trade them in. also he is only 90 pounds so he is pretty light haha but i guess that makes sence for someone whi is 5'2 and he will probably get a new pair after this season seeing how he is still growing.

No it's not. Not only are the skis rockered so that the points of contact with the snow are closer to the waist, but if you're a solid skier, are strong, and/or are heavier than most people your size, you should have no issue riding a ski that's around 10-15cm taller than you. Also, if the B-Dogs are anywhere near as light as the old Halos, they are a really, really light, which only makes them easier to manoeuver.

yeah i know that part about the rocker but what i was saying is i thought that he was meaning he is just starting park and he got skis that big and i didn't think that was a good idea. also he didnt really say f he was heavy or not.
