RparrIt is consistently the best feature at bw when then set it up decently
The.Fishi slipped out on it on my last hit but I was just being lazy and not paying attention. I almost screwed up my knee because my ski got caught and my leg was twisting but luckily squires got my back with that pre release so I was fine.
SkierFromOhioWill you be there tomorrow? I want to try the tube but I need someone to motivate me to do it.
RparrIt might be a little sticky since it's so damn hot but you should still do it
The.FishHow did the footy come out?
The.FishI looked at aspen ski and board's website and I am very impressed. It actually looks like they care about the skier and not the money lol. I am gonna get new fitted boots next year, their boots are really cheap but 150 for footbeds seems like a little much. Atleast shell modification is free if you buy the boots there.
RparrThat's where my boots came from, I used to live 5 minutes from their shop. They usually have great selection

japanadaI work there as does another NSer. Killer shop with prices that will beat any evo or bc price out there. We have great selection of items priced to move. And $150 for full custom footbeds is pretty cheap considering the last two shops i worked at charged $200. If you want a standard trim to fit you're looking at $40. Any questions feel free to PM
SkierFromOhioI need fitted boots also. My feet have way to much room. To get it decently tight I have to practically cut off circulation to my feet.
The.FishI make the cleveland to cincinnati trip a lot in the summer so I will stop by in polaris when I gather the money up.
teamdummyre. quality footbeds-----I dropped about $170 for a custom set of footbeds----in1995! I am still using them to this day. They have been in probably 6 different sets of boots. Now they were all either Rachle Flexons or Full Tilts (same boots) with heat moldable liners, but they still work amazing and give me a solid foundation for my feet. Im due for boots probably next season, and will still use the old footbeds. Obviously your mileage will vary. Quality costs more sometimes, but sometimes even the more expensive item ends up being the better value.
The.Fishi was just curious as to why they cost so much. I watched a few videos on how they make them. Id say they should be 100 max. All they do is make a mold out of fabric and add a rigid structure to the bottom. I have heard nothing but good things though. I just don't understand how a boot has so much more material but is less than double the price of a foodbed. Honestly I will probably just get a premolded one like I currently have because there is a good chance my foot may change shape since I still have to grow another inch or two and cross country does a lot of stuff to your feet when you run over 500 miles in a season. I can always get a custom one later once I am for sure that my foot is finished changing.
japanadaCost to the shop is a big part of it. They arent cheap by anymeans. Then you have the machine used to make the molds of your foot and the one to heat up the footbeds themselves. Then you have the hour to two of employee time that it takes us to ensure we are doing a good job making them. Plus a bit more time in the backshop trimming and sanding them to ensure the perfect match with the inside of your liner.
Lots of things may seem like it should hlbe quick and cheap but you'll find out quality can cost as you get older.
Also if you're running 500 miles a year, you really should have some sort of orthodic in your shoes. Post race confort will be a night and day difference. Not to mention your body will thank you a lot in 15 years.
RparrBrandywine needs to fix their snow cam to the park so I can see just how shitty it's going to be
The.FishI already have specific running shoes that provide the arch support I need. I know that nike shoes are awful for running because they last like 2 weeks before they go bad. I have the whole running shoe comfort down after lots of research and experience. I just need a trainer to strengthen some specific muslces so I don't get shin splints since my form is so bad. And i understand why they are expensive now. I forgot apsen actually cares about quality unlike 90% of companies i have worked with in anything.
japanadaAny shoes that claims to have the same or better arch support than even a trim to fit footbed is a bunch of BS imo. Repeated pronation is a major cause of shinsplints fyi. Your arch is under extreme pressures with each step and about everything else falls out of alignment with it.
The.FishThey don't advertise arch support but I go to a local store and the guy knows exactly what he is doing like a local ski shop I guess. I don't go to dicks or something, that is basically what not to buy. And I know that I have over pronation. That is why I am going to a trainer for help in the spring. I do a crap ton of calf stretches and exercises. I just need him to fix my form because I also tend to have a little hunch forward and slam my foot down when I run. Basically I need to strengthen my core and hips to fix that which may help with my shins a little. My freshman year I was perfectly fine and actually ran my fastest times that year. Then sophomore year hit and I got them out of no where and was out for a good chunk of the season. Last year I just managed the pain by not doing as many miles and as long of workouts and icing more.
The.FishWent to brandywine yesterday for an hour and they built a 40+ foot second jump. It looks massive but there is 0 chance anybody can clear it
RparrI'm sending the fuck out of that today. I hope the speed is there
The.FishI looked up peak resorts stock because I was wondering how much extra money they are making by being cheap. It turns out they are actually going down hill and their stock prices have been cut in half over the last two years. They are running their resorts into a giant hole. I mean you have seen the parking lot this year.
RparrThey've been doing terribly as a whole for many years. The boyd family has incredibly deep pockets.
The.FishThey put in your dfd tube
RparrI saw, I'll be skiing that thing for like 6 hours tomorrow
The.FishI am honestly thinking about switching to snow trails next year. The park is better, the season is longer, the snow is better. The only thing that sucks is its an extra 30 min drive from bmbw
SkierFromOhioI don't know if it would be worth it. Snow trails is like an hour + from bmbw
The.FishHad to be the crash dummy for the jump today and i knuckled it by 3 ft and kneed myself in the face. I also couldn't even slide a rail for my life. I got brandywined hard
Rparrlol, the first or the second jump? Or did they build a new one?
I tried to come skiing but my toe still hurts too much, looks like I'm out for a bit
pmcon_20I thought u had the hang of them a few weeks ago.
The.Fish360s are impossible. All i do is land backseat at 270 and destroy my hip. I can barley walk rn.
RparrMore shin pressure when you take off.
Also bwine park is fucking pitiful right now
pmcon_20Try keeping ur head against ur shoulder or t set but keep it on a flatter axis.
The.FishI try to do that but i keep thinking if i move my shoulders forward then i will end up doing a misty or something. My hip doesn't hurt too bad so i will throw some after i get back from holiday valley saturday. Or i may try some there. Also, make sure you quote when you reply so i get the notification.
