The.FishI sent a long message to bishop to have him take down this thread for our own legal safety. We can just make another one.
The.FishThis new jump looks like it was sculpted by angles (atleast for bmbw). Hopefully it rides as good as it looks.
RparrIt's way too fucking small, I will barely be able to squeak around a 540 on it
The.FishI posted it before the sun came up. Now i see its the typical one from last year. I guess i could only see the groomed marks and thought those were the edge. Ill take it over no jump i guess.
Rparri mean at least it's a properly shaped jump as opposed to that pile of garbage they had until now
The.FishThe pill was put in and it is the mosf fun i have had with a feature. I also tried the flat down box. I hate how you cant grip it so you have no control. But the amount of snow they have is insane. I have never seen so much and they arw only 1/2 way done.
RparrAwesome, the pill is a classic. How is it set up? Flat?
teamdummyI drove down to mad river today to check it out because now it's included on the season pass. It's pretty cool. Everything in their park is pretty mellow and hittable. One crazy Dfd that is a street style gap on.....I didn't mess with that one..haha. I'd been here once years ago, but never came back. Its pretty cool if your looking for a change of scenery, but don't want to pay for a lift ticket. From Akron it took me about 2 hours 10 minutes. Packed a lunch, and used my BMBW pass. Didn't spend a dime but on gas.
The.FishI shit you not, there was a roller on champagne and my friend sent it 40 ft down. He may have torn his shoulder, here is a video https://www.instagram.com/p/BO_GGM-gEXZ/?taken-by=jerryoftheday.ohio/
RparrHoly shit this weather coming up is really not good. Bw will never get around to putting up a decent setup. the jump and the pill are good right now but they might as well be the only features up.
The.FishTbh my fav feature rn is the box because i learned surface swaps on it and its really addicting. I thought i would like the flat down but it kinda pisses ms off because you can't grip it for your lift. I slipped out on the pill and slammed my hip 4 ft down so i stopped hitting that.
Rparrwell I hate to break it to you but I watched them take that box out tonight lol. Front or back surface swap?
The.FishWell backswap obviously because you don't have to even move anything to get it. I hope they put in some more long ride on rails but i doubt it. I need to sack up and just hit an urban style rail. Probably will be good next week cause it will be so slushy.
Rparrwell you may be waiting for quite a while, I don't see them putting up a decent setup anytime soon with all this weather.
The.FishIm hitting the down on that last pad. Not too risky it appears atleast.
RparrJust make sure you wax because depending on the weather that rail can either be very slick or sticky

The.FishAny advice before I do it? I heard that you aren't supposed to fully pop when u go onto a rail actually because ur tips go down and you land like a boner on the rail which can cause u to slip out or catch. And when do you turn 90? Pov shots make it look like you turn later in the jump which seems awkward. It looks like way different timing than normal ride on rails.
RparrGo slow the first few attempts. You don't have to pop nearly as much as you think, my first attempt at a urban on rail many years ago ended with me disaster-ing nearly the entire rail. but at the same time, the faster you go the less you'll have to pop. Just worry about getting on the rail legitimately at first, how you slide it out will come later and is partially a function of how well you get on the rail.
you definitely do turn after the pop but it's not as un-natural as you may think. Your body will learn not to turn the tips over the rail too early. Make sure the feature hasn't disintegrated into a sketchy state. You know how that happens at bmbw. I've been working on 2's onto urban style rails and it has been absolutely annihilating me, so many tip catches
You will probably slide less than half the rail at first, but that is still a good start.
The.FishI put a thread in ski gaber with a video. I can relate to the disastering thing.
RparrHave you seen the forecast for here? We are fucked, too much rain
The.FishOh its ridiculous, bmbw has closed on tuesday the last 2 weeks and ski club has been so rattled. I love it.
Rparrthere will be like 0 features to ski when they are open, that's the problem
The.FishThe road will be closed to get there so we have to take the long way around that goes on 82
RparrAh piss, that makes an 8 minute drive 20 for me. I'm actually sick as shit but I feel like I won't be missing much this weekend
The.FishNot one feature besides the jump was setup. Well the pill was there but the kicker is half impossible to even get on the thing. It was dead... on a friday night... ive never seen the place so bad.
RparrWas the jump an ice block?
The.FishThe landing is basically flat now. Nobody was hitting it.
RparrWell fuck, they won't be able to build anything really until februrary at least
The.FishI finally got an urban on that looks like good. They have a really cool looking flat down shotgun setup going. Here is a vid of my progression today https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/854086/Urban-on-progression
Rparrgood work, but it actually may be easier for you to do on a down rail rather than a flat rail urban on.
This weather we're having is unlike any January thaw I've ever seen. Do you think we'll make it into march? I think not a change. Boyd and the boys are already giving up I would imagine.
The.FishTHE DOWN TUBE IS AMAZING OMG. I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT
