Best pow ski?

I want a super light weight ski probably about 115 under foot. also i don't need to be able to ski much crud or groomed. I mostly want to ski some medium sized booters 20 t0 30 foot cliffs and landing switch in the pow would be nice. So far i am looking at the armada JJs, k2 pettitors, Faction 3.0, Line sfbs or the battalla spriggs.

The 3.0's are straight feathers...I couldn't believe how lightweight they were when I checked them out. No other ski that wide (that I've felt) has been that light.

However, you should decide on a ski based on more than just the weight...

Doug told me that he tried the Magnum Opus's and they're fun as fuck. If I remember correctly they were pretty light too

Uses the same core as the 3.0, its the B-Comp (or one made similar by B-Comp) for Line thats a flax balsa micro laminate. The Cores on them can be light and flex evenly without turning into noodles as they are built in a similar fashion to the cores of race stock. The core of your average freeride is the stringers are about 1cm wide. In the B-Comps and race cores the stringers are between 2-5mm wide at the most.

How do you ski? The chetlers and magnum Opus' are a very playful and poppy ski while the 3.0's will be more for charging and feel overall burlier. I can't really speak on the pettitors, spriggs, or JJ's but they are all solid choices.

None of these fall into the category of burly or charger. The Candie allows you to ski at speed without it falling apart. Theres a different league of charger which is your Katanas, El Dictators and Dynastar Legend series or Blizzard Bodacious.

You're right, I was saying in relation to the magnums and bent chetlers which are just a more playful ski, the 3.0's cater themselves more to "charging" when I tried them they kind of whispered for me to push myself more and aim for bigger gnarlier lines.

The Armada JJ is pretty sick in pow. It's 115 under foot and pretty light for its size. It is my go to ski for a pow day or in the back country. It is still pretty good on groomers and crud also.

I want to play around a lot but my main thing would be hitting bc features some booters and step ups and stuff.

I can vouch for the Opus, super playful, easy to smear and butter. I ski a 185 and they are surprisingly quick in the trees, hold up alright going over 100km/hr on groomers and can land confidently off 25+ cliffs in pow. However a bunch of my friends ski JJ's and won't ski anything else because they love them. Also you can get last years for under 450

my only worry about the 3.0 is the small amount of tail rocker. Would it be easier to land switch in pow on the bent chetlers the 3.0 the jjs or the j-skis friend? and would it really make much of a difference? thanks
