Why urban?

Skateboarding is an icon of cool so the closer to skateboarding an activity it is the more people it will attract. since urban skiing is all about shredding handrails and doing wallrides in the streets without a hill it makes it more similar to skateboarding, therefore making it more popular especially if you live in a snowy climate where you can't skate year round

What is it that gets people sledding at random hills and not just tubing at the mountain.

I grew up looking at the world like a skatepark. Looking at rails, angles of banks, roof drops, wallrides everything since i was real young. Theres something about seeing a rail and thinking " omg i want no i NEED to hit that" and then cleaning it. Almost all of the urban i hit i dont even have footage of any more if i had it at all. Def wasnt shot driven as much as just wanting a rail.

When you see a picture of a nice rail at another mtn you think, " damn i wanna go hit that".

The world is a park. Lots of styff to hit outside of the mtns.

In terms if the massive wave of urban riding, the creativity js a huge part. You can ride something that wasnt intented for what youre doing, magbe something thats never been hit. Then you get into that " first decent" type stoke. Also urban movie parts have been doing really well recently so a lot of that is out there a nd thats what the new kids have grown up with.

Terrain parks are starting to get more weird and creative. Multi option features, urban inspired setups, and park sections that arent so straight forward. Sections where you have to watch a few people and take a few laps to figure out the flow. More like a skating park vs just having a down rail into a aframe etc all straight and standard.

Theres a wave of creativity all around and i think its needed. The limits of how far you can spin are nearly reached. We need some different ways to keep the sport fresh. With urban there is always something new and weird out there.

Also its fun as fuck. The setup, the sounds, the rush of trying to get a tick before the cops come, the sairs for fences or whatever to remind you that this wasnt built for you to ski.

That said i think im done. Cant afford another dome hit. Theres a dock and a huge roof drop i want this year if my head is clear but thats it. People these days are next level. I just wanna do wht i do best and lurk in the shadows, have fun on this or that and leave the huge quad kinks abd other shit to tbe real shredders.
