Unless you have ninja hands if you land switch heavy with long poles you will more than likely punch yourself in the face

They are lighter, and basically the only thing that park skiers use their poles for is getting speed and some people think poles are beneficial for balancing on rails. Plus landing switch with long poles would be a bitch.

Yup. Done that racing before, it hurts like a bitch when you unexpectedly punch yourself in the face. You need long poles for racing though.
