What flex index do you guys ride, do you like it? why do you like it? I'm on a 120 and love the control and power I get out of it.

I ride 100/110 boots that can be adjusted and they're pretty sick I guess. Can rip groomers, pow, moguls and park on them they're just a little heavy.

130, although I might add another screw for 140 just for kicks to see what it's like.

They're not uncomfortable if you have them fitted correctly.

dude props, not many peps on here riding a good boot like that. I hate full tilts! I mean if that's what your into its cool, but damn they are soft.

115 progressive Flex Nordica's but I think im overflexing them... Might have to go in and see what my fitter thinks of the situation

Flex is something that is based on how much you weigh, your ankle flexibility, what you are used to skiing in, and to a very small extent your ski selection. If you have not chosen your flex based on those things, then you really should- your skiing will greatly improve. That does not mean that a stiffer boot will perform better or a softer boot will perform better- it only means that the proper flex will perform better. Therefore, 120 for some people will be too stiff and cause issues and 120 will be too soft for some people and likewise cause issues. Get the right flex for your subjective needs and you'll love it.

It should also be noted here that stiff boots do not cause shinbang and soft boots do not reduce shinbang. Only the proper flex for you (as described above) will result in a comfortable & high performing boot.

There is no unisversal flex index either. A Salomon 120 isn't the same as a Tecnica 120.

While there is no universal "standard" across companies, when talking about Full Tilt tongues i would say based on my list below that is a rough estimate on the flex of the tongue, the Seth Morrison model also adds the cinch strap style to the boot which also increases the flex

6 = 90-95
7 = 100
8 = 110
9 = 120
10 = 130

well onenerdykid and caucasian_asian basically said everything I was going to say so I guess I'll just contribute, I ski a lange RX 130 which is a relatively soft 130 compared to other companies (proof that the flex index is made up lol). Thinking about picking up the RS 130 I just don't have the funds right now :(

They only make a 7 tongue for the booters and there is no 9 tongue.

while having used both 6 flex (TW pro) and 5 Flex (booter), along with a soft boot and then another stiffer boot.... the 5 flex tongue feels about a 65-75 flex, and the 6 feels about 75 to around 85 or 90 (depending on how tight you cinch them up) there is absolutely no way a 6 flex tongue is 110. ive ridden a 90-95 flex atomic boot all last year, and my Tom walls are significantly softer
