STPGet the blanks! You can make your own graphic if your into that and this year they are the shape of last years double times which i have and it is the perfect park shape. Perfect width for everything in park and some all mountain. And they are really cheap. Camber is awesome, super poppy and stable.
.LincolnYeah but they are poop durability. Moment makes a solid ski, so I'd go with moment.

STPSurface has definitely made their skis better with durability. Go watch banks or john ware they ski urban and their skis hold up great. Banks even said himself he has only broken one pair of surface skis in his life and he skis hard in park. I have surface skis and they hold up great.
nutz.just curious.... have you tried the new blanks?
.LincolnWatching a edit tells you nothing about a ski dude...
I actually I have not. I have been around the old surface tho. So unless they made some changes I still feel like the durability would not hold up. And that makes sense cause they're made in a factory somewhere in Asia. My friend did pick up some blanks this year and once he rides on them I'll ask him if he thinks they are durable compared to surfaces other stuff
nutz.Pretty sure everyone's said that they've made considerable quality changes in recent years. Granted that you don't have experience with the new blanks, for you to say they are poop quality is not really constructive as well.... you really don't know right? I'm all for giving advice, but don't give unfounded opinions based on speculation.
You're also completely misinformed, as Surface makes their skis in Austria, and have since at least 2006 (I'm assuming you didn't have any problems with them before that seeing as I saw in another thread you're 15 or 16 now so you would've been like.....7 or 8.
But since you brought up Asia..... K2's are made somewhere in asia, so are lines, and so are volkl's, and the list goes on.. Hell so are your MacBooks and iPhones. I'm all for supporting US made brands like ON3P, but the notion that a chinese made product equals shit quality is absolutely ridiculous.
.LincolnI've ridden and been around old surface stuff, surface from a couple years ago, and my friends have bought some of this years stuff. Durability is just not as good as other brands. As for the Asia comment, I must have been misinformed because I was told and believed they were made in Asia.
And just to let you know blanks is a price point ski, so it's gonna act like a price point ski. like some off k2s stuff(presses) and lines stuff(anythjng under $400)
STPThe blanks won't act like a price point ski, whatever that means, the blanks are a quality ski with a blank graphic, which i think is rad. The only reason they are so cheap is because of the graphic (i think) but they are good skis. I stand by my point, get the blanks.
.LincolnPrice point means less expensive. It's easier on your wallet and you get what you pay for. And no graphic is not what makes it cheaper. It's materials. If it was graphic that makes it cheeper then I'll take some blank ON3Ps for $300 please.
nutz.Traditional Camber Construction
Poplar Wood Core
Bunch Pop Carbon Stringers Tip-to-Tail
Directional Taper Shape
ABS Sidewall Construction
Extruded Base
2.5mm Full Wrap Steel Edges
Binding Reinforcement Sheets
2mm Mini-Cap
Polyurethane Floor Mats Underfoot
what in here makes it sound like the materials are cheaper (outside of the extruded base, which a lot of slightly cheaper park skis have anyways)? And with on3p you're paying for a boutique brand that does everything in house, so your price of 300 is ridiculous lol, yes their stuff is outsourced which lets them offer a cheaper ski, but just because they're offering a ski for cheaper doesn't mean it's shit as you keep saying.
You're ragging on them, yet you haven't even tried any of their newer stuff yet.
.Lincoln$300 was a joke obviously. Handmade durable skis for $300..I wish. And I was going of the other guys post.
And you are right. I haven't tried this years stuff first hand because there haven't been any reviews yet and the previous years stuff(which I have been on) is just not that high quality. Why would I buy a ski or recommend a ski I had trouble with in the past? And I don't see any changes build/construction wise compared to last years blanks so how are they more durable? We could ask surface but their customer service also is poop.
nutz.Ah okay fair enough, I see what you mean.
You're right, they're just an ordinary pricepoint ski. However, if money were an object, I'd definitely grab a pair of these if I didn't like buying skis used. It may not be the best, but it seems like a good deal for the price.
