Replying to Should I Quit Band?

Just started my freshmen year of high school and am currently taking band. I have played bass clarinet since 7th grade and am pretty good but lately this year I've been starting to lose my stoke for it. I have a great teacher, but the kids in my class are annoying as hell and none of my friends take the same class. Basically the only reason I'm sticking with it is because of the benefits band has on a college application, etc. Just wondering if anybody on NS has been in the same situation or experienced the benefits of band in their later years.
