i get a week off in the middle of febuary and my dad said were going to either aspen, whistler or steamboat, where would yall go, im leaning to aspen and the boat bc last time i was in whistler for teh winter it rained and i was fucking unimpressed

whistler with good snow has got to be one of the best mountains to ski.

You can never go wrong with Steamboat, and if you have never been, they get great snow and have an old school mountain town feel. Whistler has a great mountain but wet heavy snow and it rains too much for me. Aspen is very very fun for those of age, and it has a number of skiing options.

i hope the park in steamboat will be open by the middle of february. at the rate they are going right now it looks like it probably won't be.

dont go steamboat its fun but the reason to go out west is for cliffs, serious pow and mind blowing steeps and glades steamboat gets good snow but not more then whistler or aspen or alot of resorts they dont have a really steep area like a cirque which gives you the backcountry expeirience. I ve been to all of those place more then once and I love all of them. I say go whistler. I know your hella rich u got like three pairs of sweet skis for x-mas but winterpark is one of my favorites, great snow amazing glades if you know where to find them good park I like is more then steamboat at least. Aspen is really nice too. just for the heads up though I can garuntee whistler wont be gettin rain in feb the weather patterns in the past month have been setting up a very snowy feb for the entire continent (gulf steam el nino hurricanes snow cover in the northern latitudes that fun stuff) Im goin out to whistler in feb for a week also.

^ snowmass has the best cliffs anywhere, definatley better than Winter Park from what i have seen, you just have to know where to look. but see then again this kid is from atlanta and i can almost guarntee he cant ski over a diamond, so it doesnt matter

^Winterkid, you are incorrect. El Nino weather patterns favor southern mountains as low pressure systems set up off the western coast of Ecuador and high pressure systems set up in the southern pacific rim. This screws northwestern US and Canda. La Nina weather patterns set up low pressure systems in the pacific rims and high pressure systems off the coast of Ecudador. Currently the SST (sea surface tempatures) which predict these arrangements are claiming an El Nino winter. If it keeps up Whister will get screwed with snow this year while areas like Wolf Creek and Silverton will get a ton of snow. 2 out of 5 years feature either an El Nino or a La Nina. The rest are what they call La Nada. This is going to be an El Nino year.
