Smith v.s. Zeal

I have always had electrics. Always. But I'm venturing out this season.

SMITHS I'm looking at:
(I/O7 I/O I/OX)

Smiths new line of goggles look pretty rad. Very stylish and as far as functionality, seem pretty good there too. Smith has been in the game for a long while and I haven't really heard anyone talk bad about Smith.

ZEALS I'm looking at:
(Eclipse Voyager Slates)

With Zeal, I haven't heard a whole lot about. There goggles are stylish enough and functionality seems pretty legit, but I don't know too much about them.


So from you fellow Smith and Zeal owners, how are your experiences with your goggles? As far as functionality, breathing, and style.

I picked up a pair of Smith Vice's about a month ago. Haven't had a chance to try them skiing but they fit really great and look nice. There's a small hole in the upper corner of the lens to let air flow so it doesn't fog up too.

I just picked up some Von Zipper el kabongs and am really happy with them. I know its not on your radar but figured id throw it out there. Also, if you have the opportunity to check them out in a store, take your helmet and try them on. That should make it a little easier!

I have some voyagers that are pretty damn there for 160 with a bonus low light lens that's really nice. Anti-fog and frame are excellent

I've used the smith I/o and I/ox, a pair of zeal goggles can't remember model, and some anon m2. Didn't like the seals the lenses scratch real easy. The smith goggles are great. The only part I don't like is the clip in the back. So if your wearing goggles under helmet it kinda sucks and is uncomfortable. the lens change is kinda annoying. The anon m2 are pretty sweet the magnet lens change is sick and the lens stays oN. It will only come off if you take a huge slam and that will be the least of your worries. Downside to m2s is no rubber on the strap so isnt great if you wear goggles outside of helmet.

Zeal has some of the best lenses out there from when I used them. Super sick photocromatic lenses and a durable as all hell, expensive as shit too. This was a few years ago before they changed management though so I dont know how the new stuff is but if its like the old stuff, it will be nicer than Smith

I've had both , IMO, top 2 goggle producers here, can't go wrong in your decision . I currently wear Zeals, very happy and GREAT construction! Flexible, durable and super scratch resistant!
