CliffyByroyeah nolan did this with all the main names in inception too
Granite_StateDom-Our lord and savior
Mal-Bad
Ariadne-Son of Midas (know your Greek mythology)leads Theseus through maze
Yusuf-Related to Quran, starts with pleasant dream/can interpret dreams
The rest not so much but its so cool how much effort he puts into not only the directing but also the screenplay. So many different levels.
Still haven't seen Interstellar but from what I read sounds like I should make it a priority.
PudgeWow, bumping your thread because I finally saw it.
As a physicist, I was stoked as fuck. Pretty much the entire time! The fact was that they had the science close enough that I was like yeah sure send it, that checks out with me. But then they did this; the shit we have no idea about they took to 10. We have no idea what happens upon the event horizon. Absolutely no idea. So the Nolan bru's were like ok fuck y'all IMAGINATION. It was perfect. I was so happy
This is totally untrue;
No such thing as "spaghetification" We have noooooo idea. The differential equations that dictate what happens very veeeerry close to the event horizon, break down at and beyond the event horizon. The math stops working. So this is a totally common belief that is straight horse puck
But I am still brigging big time. Any resurgence in these convos??
beantownsmugglerTHANK YOU! We have no idea. And it's ignorant to think that we do have an idea. It's not a bad thing to be unaware of the unknown. Some things aren't supposed to be truly known...
stucciok. i saw this yesterday and holy fuck it was unreal. i made sure not to read anything or even watch the trailer about it and i was blown away. definitely my favourite film to date
i also greatly appreciate a solid film score and boy did Interstellar touch me there.
JAHpowJust saw it
moistI've seen it three times now. Need more money.

JAHpowFor me, the soundtrack is the most important part of a movie. And a soundtrack can save a terrible movie IMO. However, in this case both the film and the soundtrack were simply incredible and complemented each other perfectly. I've listened to the entire soundtrack quite a few times now on youtube.
I'll probably buy the album and obviously the movie when it's released.
Another fantastic score by Hans Zimmer.
extravertThe actors did the best with the script they had. Im a big Nolan fan, but the dialogue in this movie was cringe worthy at times (the love speech, you know which one).
The visuals were awesome, and seeing it in IMAX was the way to go.

[tk]This is basic storytelling. You don't just pick names out of a hat haha.
Saw it on the last day of IMAX, didn't even notice the length on the movie. It really took me out of the theater and into their world compared to seeing the latest hobbit movie. Nolan did a killer job. Mind blown not because of any crazy twists but because it was such a dope experience.

SKI.INGSo worth buying a hard copy of the album, I love it. Disappointing that they didn't include the docking song version from the movie, but people are making quality ones online so its okay.
StoseI thought it was great visually, obviously very intriguing which I loved most, but for me it was a hard movie to watch. I can't put my finger on why, but there were often times I felt restless and needed to shift around because I was kind of pushing me out rather than drawing me in. Like there were certain moments where I definitely felt like an audience member rather than someone in the experience. I probably won't be seeing it again, but I absolutely loved the concepts and how it was thought out.
beantownsmugglerLol wut?
beantownsmugglerAnyone know where to watch it online in decent quality? I found it on putlocker.is and it's decent quality, but nothing great...Any links or recommendations would be greatly appreciated, trying to put it on the TV tonight...
And before you try and bust balls about pirating, I saw it in theaters 3 times and plan on getting it on blu ray. I just wanted to watch it again in the meantime. Thanks!
beantownsmugglerI know I sound nuts and I'm sorry, but did this movie get completely underrated, overlooked, and misunderstood?
I am a huge movie buff that is super picky when it comes to TV shows, films, ski edits, and everything else. However, Interstellar is an emotional roller coaster of a movie that makes you think, feel, and experience everything that it portrays. I feel as if nowadays everyone is consumed with the next shitty ass movie that is riddled with CGI and doesn't have an ounce of cinematographic, intellectual, or intensity.
Just think about how heavy this movie is. The plot. The acting. The music. The relationships between characters. The reality of the setting. How much it makes you ponder ourselves as beings within an entire universe of unknowns.
I guess it just makes me depressed how people don't appreciate good film making these days. And just let me make this clear: I am NOT a "Nolan fan boy"...I just believe that legitimate directors and good films are hard to come by these days. Interstellar was fucking brilliant.
