i wouldnt call it a true delam, but the topsheet of a pair of scott p4s is peeled like half way off. so i was wondering if i could peel the plastic topsheet completely off, and then take it to an auto body shop, and have them spray multiple layers of clear coat to keep the water out. also if i did this would the new layers of clear coat have any affect on binding retention?
note. i got these skis for 50 bucks and am gonna use them as my new rock ski. so im not too worried about performance, just as long as the core of the ski stays dry and the bindings dont rip out
If you peel the top sheet off the skis then the core could get wet and rot out although that might already be the case depending on how much has peeled off. Ski shops usually rivet the tips/tails of the skis if they delam which you might want to look into. Overall it isn't worth spending to much time or money on them giving what you paid and their current condition.
