It's all in the title. Who do you think is pushing the skiing game and doing stuff no one has done before them? I'd have to say The Bunch are the biggest inovaters of our generation, but who do you think is changing the face of skiing as we know it?
Very cool to see a bunch of past and present Orage riders named in this thread. With that being said, it's impossible to name one innovator without naming another twenty... and that's just one of the many reasons why skiing is so awesome.

I feel like I'm forgetting some also. That dude has done so much innovation in our sport but never gets credit for it.
Shit he was even the first Superunknown winner, so he helped cement that competition as one of the most coveted to the up and comers of our sport.
Lots of people seem to forget him, but he was definitely one of the guys (similar to T-Hall) who bridged the gap between the pioneers (JP, JF, McConkey, Douglas, etc) and the newer guys. I seem to recall him doing way more urban than other guys when he first started. Also definitely put a lot of focus on style. Also one of the og Armada team members.
j-calI think the bunch is in the middle of inovation. They i dont think have made a big impact yet but will soon. I think they bring the fun back into skiing. Finess was one of my favorite films.... why? It made skiing look fun. The vibe was not about fun laughing style but there tricks and style made me stoked to ski. It made me want to ski like them in a way. It made me want to go out and ski like how i want to ski and how i see things. I think The Bunch stands for individuality and the simple joy of skiing. It is very refreshing to see something i can relate to.
Just my opinion. I dont think they are the best skiers or have changed the sport the most. But what i think they stand for is something desperately needed in skiing. You dont need to do the best tricks... You just need to do things how you see them.
Couldn't have put it any better myself man. I think The Bunch are really changing the face of our sport with their individualism and showing people that skiing is very much alive and it isn't all triples and big rotations but rather just taking it back to the basics and tweaking or manipulating them in a way that becomes extremely difficult in it's own way. It's super entertaining to watch and I think it pushes for more individualism in a sport where the art of being unique appears to be slowly dwindling away.
Maybe not of all time, but recently, I'd probably say Adam Delorme. There's not really many skiers out there today that can match his innovation, control and talent. He's done tricks 2-3 years ago that nobodies even close to touching now.
Oh they're some nice powder skis I often say to myself.I wonder who put bindings on water skis. Thanks to McConkey we now have powder skis. Sammy for first triple. Jason for twintips (sorta) new Canadian airforce for progressing freeskier so hard

Level 1. Always slightly ahead of the game in style. Wallisch, BnE, Dadali, Hornbeck, Real Skifi, The Bunch all have done things with level 1 all ahead of their time in style and creativity
bdog and wallisch have definitely been the biggest influences on rail skiing in the last 10 years or so. wallisch showed everyone that anything can be pretzeled, and bdog is still showing everyone just how many insane tricks you can do without ever even doing a switch up
My time? I'm 28 so its going to be different then someone thats 35, or 15.
Innovation with style? Tricks? Segments? In comps?
For a broad general question like this you going to get such a wide range of answers that make the question itself look dumb.
To narrow it down a bit the last few years for park skiing hands down Henrik Harlaut. This isn't taking rails into consideration but for comp skiing, style, tricks and his involvement with Inspired/B&E projects he has it on lock.
For rails over the last few years? You cant really pick one person. No one person has the park, urban, technical, creative, and big consequence stuff.
kalle.candide, delorme, real skifi guys, vinnie gagnier just to name a few. all these guys have shaped the style of skiing in their own way, and we all recognise them by a single look at them.
