VinnieFAnybody ski there? I have a van out west I can use for the winter so thinking of skiing there. It's nearly impossible to find any good info on it other than that it gets a shit ton of amazing snow and gets really really cold.
Looking to find out if the terrain is any good and if there's somewhere decently close to park a van for a couple months.
Other choices to stay the winter are Whitewater, Red, Revy, or Kicking Horse. I'm not good at these types of choices.
I lived in PG for two years. Powder King does get absolutely dumped on, and the big upside is there is very little competition for snow since it's in the middle of nowhere (200km from Prince George, 2hours on a shitty 2 lane highway).
The downsides are the terrain is very small and boring, especially in bounds. Side country has some fun tree skiing but it's a bit flat and you have to skate/hike back to the lifts. Lifts themselves are ancient (one chair one t-bar) and the lodge is old. Tickets are cheap and the bar is good.
Powder King is not on the same planet as Revy or Kicking Horse and the backcountry access is not as good as Whtiewater AND there is nothing else decent nearby.
I would hit up KH/Revy (they are 90 minutes apart or so) instead, much bigger and better terrain with decent snowfall.
