Full tilts vs cheaper boots

Are full tilts worth the extra money or should I just get a cheap pair of boots that aren't quite as nice?

Worth the money. Best boots out for comfort and performance assuming your foot shape works with the available models.

Buy some older full tilts. Cheaper and work the same.

well it all comes down to if they fit your foot, but they are very good boots if they do fit. i used them for years but prefer dalbello now. they've got a more modern shell design, they actually look like a foot, not a square shaped blob like full tilts. i also used to break a buckle every week or two with my FTs, in a whole season on the dalbellos i broke one buckle.

I went through the exact same thing. Dalbellos cost twice as much but def. worth it.

^ lol, i tried a few pairs on last month and they're comfortable. Being a Dalbello Rampage guy i wanted to see the difference and possibly switch, but the construction seems cheaply made with thin plastic and buckles that don't seem solid.

DON'T CHEAP OUT ON SKI BOOTS. JUST DON'T.

I don't know if Full Tilts are right for your feet, but I do know that if you buy a pair of boots that doesn't have a nice liner and doesn't fit your feet properly, you will be miserable all season.

It's because their buckles are made from pretty flimsy plastic instead of metal like most other boots.

If you fall a lot and bash the buckles on hard snow/ice or they get hit against rails then they are much more likely to break compared to full metal buckles.

To OP: Don't skimp or cheap out on boots. They're the most important part of your gear. Buy boots first then use whatever money you have left over to buy other equipment.

You can always still ski and have fun with crappy skis/jacket/poles/pants/etc but having fun skiing in poorly fitting boots in near impossible.
