With ski season just around the corner, and the first touches of snow on the peaks of most mountains, every skier around the globe has started to get the strange looks from others wondering how humans can possibly be so happy during a season where the daylight hours are shorter, the air cold, and the weather just miserable. Well, we all know the answer, its ski season, and we're just simply stoked. I just can't wait to ski, get out on the hill with friends, and family. Create memories, and live it out on the mountain, that is if I can ever make it to the mountain. So here's to starting the season with a non-skiing related injury! As I watch everyone collect their gear, wax their skis, and hit their summer set ups that no longer require them to go and get snow from the local arena, I will be sitting at home, watching re-runs of movies picturing Shane McConkey doing what he does best, waiting for my doctor to tell me if I need surgery or not, and how long my recovery period will be. My skis stare at me daily, and I can't wait for my first chance to get out and get down. Cheers.
