gnar_whalHow long is the rail
C_DowdWhich switch up are you going for, frontside or backside?
C_DowdOk, this is how you frontside switch-up.
Step 1.) Slide the rail like you would normally. (Keep your eyes on the end of the rail.
Step 2.) Rotate your front foot about 45 degrees horizontally and slightly vertically, so that the inside edge of your ski will be sliding across the edge of the rail.(Keep your weight distributed between both feet evenly.)
Step 3.) Jump upward and rotate a 180 so that you will land back on the rail. (Keep your eyes on the end of the rail)
Step 4.) Slide the rest of the rail unnaturally.
Step 5.) Stomp that shit.
There are two possibility as to what you are doing wrong.
The first possibility is that you,re not keeping your weight distributed between your feet evenly, and all of your weight is on your back foot, causing your front foot to just be in the pretzel position but not doing anything.
The second possibility is that you're weighting to long before you pretzel. This could be be caused by a confidence issue with sliding unnatural. To fix this just commit to the swap earlier. If this is what the problem is you might want to practice sliding unnatural a bunch just to get confident with it.
