My Full Tilts are defective

Just a heads up to save you guys the trouble I've been dealing with. Bought some new T-Walls and haven't been able to make them fit.....the shells are the right size, but the cables are WAY too long.

After spending 7 hours back & forth on the phone with the retailer and FT, there's no consensus on what the right length cables for the boots are. Depending on whose story you wanna believe, FT changed the cable lengths for one or more shell sizes this year and my boots are all good.....or FT put the wrong length cables on and won't have replacements in the right length 'til mid-November.

Either way, if you buy a pair of '15 Full Tilts there's a chance they won't fit and both the retailer and FT will leave you hung out to dry for at least 3 weeks.

Sorry for the inconvenience! Has this been resolved? If not please DM us and we can put you back in touch with the right shop or CS agent to make it right.

Did you go into the shop you got them from to have them take a look? There's may factors that make the sizes different from foot to foot so there certainly needs to be a bit of work done by the shop or yourself to make the best fit. Luckily their are different size cables, multiple positions you can put the cable on internally to change the length and then of course the micro adjust on the buckle itself. Good luck! now's the time to dial in that fit.

I'm not gonna name names in this thread, but if you wanna help then please tell me what length the upper & middle cables are supposed to be on the new T-Walls in 26.5?

ya ive had a slightly similar issue also. i just bought the 26.5 graffiti tom walls and the toe cable on the right boot is significantly tighter than the left. nothing too serious but just enough to make it uncomfortable. anyone else have similar issues?

Of course they are defective, ya bought ft's. Just messin, that sucks man, coulda bought dalbello for a little more and would have had the same construction but more solid and with real buckles so you wouldn't have the mid 80's cable setback that you are having from thirty years ago.

Did you go to a boot fitter? Because if something is defective with your boot they would fix it straight away to make it fit.

Yeah I went to a bootfitter and he fit them just fine, but he did mention the cables were too long and I didn't have much adjustment left. Moving the upper cable back in the tabs didn't make much difference.....that's why I called the retailer and FT chasing shorter cables.

We're not talkin' a few mm here.....the cables are WAY too long.

Why'd you get them if they were defective? Just curious to why you just didn't get a different pair when you found out the cables were too big.

The bootfitter doesn't stock Full Tilts, so I bought them elsewhere and took them to him to get fitted.....but we're getting off-track here. The problem is that my FTs do not have the correct length cables, and neither the retailer nor the manufacturer can supply them.....they can't even agree on what the correct length is supposed to be.

brett the buckle is too tight on the loosest setting. but ill just deal with it, its not that big of a deal.

I have this problem too actually. Not as bad but is is a little harder to get that cable into position because it seams to be just a bit shorter... not enough to really matter though it just takes 10 seconds longer to put on my boots.

Here's the thing, your boots are not defective, you bought a pair of boots and the cables aren't the right size for your leg.

That's like buying a high end bike with the seat not being right for you and calling the bike defective. Sometimes adjustments need to be made and parts need to be replaced.

There is a very simple solution here:
1) remove your cables and measure them
2) go online and order a size or two down
3) receive new cables and install them on your boots
4) learn your lesson about buying boots online...

it's that easy!

You probably know already buuut, if you remove the liner and bend around a little you'll notice that you can put the cables back or forth for adjusting the fit.

Yeah that's the logical conclusion.....I thought that too a week ago.

No, it's more like buying a bike where the seatpost is so long that it can't be lowered to the correct height.....at least I could fix that with a hacksaw, but I doubt the cables could be "shortened" without creating an accident waiting to happen.

I'm told the same problem applies to all new FTs in this size and maybe more, regardless of where they're bought.
