Sick of taking your backpack off on the lift?

That's a pretty sick idea, however there's no real hassle to taking your backpack off before a lift anyways

Meh. Looks okay. I feel like the cable that holds it would get run down and break easily. I guess I just don't think it's worth the money compared to simply swinging your pack around.

Really? I have to undo 1-2 clips each time, then do them up again at the top, all with gloves on. It's definitely a minor annoyance but still.

Yeah I also think that part looks super snappable if you were using this for anything strenuous, like, say, skiing.

The other point is that it just looks like kind of a useless pack for ski purposes. My heli pro, which is the only pack I'd use for a day that will involve chairlifts, is pretty damn optimal in terms of gear organization, which is more than worth the chairlift tradeoff.

actually a pretty good idea. its a convenience pitch but it makes sense if your in and out of your backpack all day. i could see a use for it but not sure if it pertains to the everyday user, because as some have said, not too many people struggle with a regular backpack, although i can respect the idea. its soid and I'm sure some have a use

I could see this being good for photographers. not havening to take your bag all the way off would be great for the safety of your camera, and would make switching lenses and stuff on the lift easy as pie.

There would definitely need to be a better design for skiing though.

Since the original "problem" with normal backpacks is so small, for people to buy this backpack, it would have to be the same quality and price as normal backpacks. The idea around this backpack would probably be seen as a feature rather than something that makes the backpack worth it

Though I probably wouldn't rock one on the hill, this problem is completely avoided with a messenger bag. Obviously for bike commuting but even just every day city commuting is wayyy easier with a messenger style bag.

Haha, I would say the opposite, I feel like these guys just wanted to design something cool so they did. I don't feel like it so much meets a need as it is just a cool gadget. Kind of product based design rather than customer based.

I openly complain about backpacks on the chairlift. Call me a grumpy old man but it does drive me nuts. So any ideas like this catch my eye.

Looks like a pretty hefty cable,lock, release system. Feel like weight could be a down side. Also I'm the dick that stopped the chairlift when my unbuckled clip got caught on the chair and rode the bull wheel. I feel like if this longer looking cable system gets hung up I might end up looking like this:
