anyone who has used the 7D mark ii what are thoughts or reviews on it.

It really depends what you are using it for. Are you using it for strictly photography? Videography? Fusion? Sure the 7d is a good sports camera but for $1800 it really does not bring a huge change to the table compared to the 7d which many people swear by. If you are using it for mostly video, I would look at other options outside of canon imo. Just because it offers dual pixel AF and 1080/60p is not really means to spend that much on a body. Look at the GH4 for which is $100 cheaper. Yeah they are aimed at different users but you can get more bang for your buck as far as video is concerned.

Yeah, the 7Dii is for those who want a single camera that can shoot at a really high burst rate, while also shooting 1080p60 video. It's really made for sports shooters

It's a decent package, but in all honesty, I'd rather spend that 1800 on multiple cameras for the job. If I had a lot invested in Canon crop glass, maybe that's one thing, but still. You can get 1080p60 video on a lot of much cheaper bodies - many with better video performance/features in general. If you need 1080p60 alone, then the GH3 or D5300 would be better, cheaper choices and well under 1000$.

What if you have 4+ canon lenses as it is? Is there an adapter for canon lenses for the Panasonic GH4? A good adapter costs more than $100.

It's not worth it to get an adapter for Canon EF lenses to panasonic. Better off buying vintage glass or native m4/3 lenses.

This. And I don't think there is an adapter because the canon lenses are to deep towards the sensor to fit on the panasonic. A lot of people have hit this problem. Many people have sold all of their canon gear and got on the panasonic train. I personally have not done this yet, but have been considering it if canon does not come out with a 5dm4 next quarter.

that's the thing though, can't you sell those pricy, heavy, overrated lenses and get native m4/3 lenses that would work better? I feel the whole reason to go m4/3 is to have a compact setup, and throwing a big heavy L lens would defeat that purpose IMO.

It's not like EF glass is mechanically that great anyway - you're better going with Nikon's aperture ring lenses for sure in this case - D glass is fantastic and way affordable if you want aperture rings, and if you get gelded lenses without aperture rings like the Tokina 11-16, you can always go with what you've done and get the adapter that allows the lens to have stepless aperture control - which you can't do on the canon stuff at all.

Yeah but the adapter also greatly slows the AF which for most L lenses is a main selling point. I am not sure if/how it affects IS but not having workable autofocus on a lens like a 70-200 would just defeat the purpose of the lens for many users.

Wait... we're talking about switching to a Panasonic GH for video.. Unless you're just completely unaware of anything, you're not using L glass on a GH3 to shoot photos I promise you. In fact, there's probably less than 100 people ever who bought that camera with the intention of using it for mostly still photos..

The AF would suck anyway with the adapter on a GH because it's non-native - on a 70-200 that's now a 140-400? Would be mega inaccurate.
