Other Forums Suck

I know a lot of other people on here are members of other forums too, but do you ever go to those sites and just think like WTF? NS is by far the cleanest and easiest forum on the web hands down. All the other car and truck forums suck and are super hard to navigate.

true story. NS was the first forum I really used and I thought wow forums are pretty cool. then I went to some other forums and well lets say I was let down.

newschoolers is easily the most user friendly forum I've ever been to. very aesthetically pleasing as well.
it seems like a lot of forums have way too much blank space or dark colours.

I think the fact that NS is a community with personalities that you get to know and love on the internet and, back when I NSed heavily, on nschat makes it much better. I mean reddits great but its like comparing EDC to a local gig.

I give NS credit for their look so many forums are incredibly busy.

When I helped redesign the theme for the Dutch sf.net equivalent the developer had to tear half the SMF software it runs on apart to get our design to half-way work. Still couldn't get rid of the thread title and overly large datestamp on every single post.



End result is quite decent for a SMF forum though if I say so myself.

I also like NS because to me it's just active enough. Some forums I lurk on I can't even keep up with the posts. Every thread is multi page within minutes. Others are like a ghost town. I get depressed when I see a forum where on the top couple threads have been bumped within the month.

Anybody want to go take over another forum? We can all post about skiing and they'll be all like why does everybody care so much about skiing all of sudden? Then we'll tell them we're from newschoolers thus causing them all to come here and try to troll our forums. It'll generate so much ad revenue for the site.

So, what forum should we raid?

This is true, But TGR has its merrits....Dont get me wrong, I am a huge fan of the ultra positive vibes here (mostly related to karam), but some times you just need to call stupid stupid, and unload. On TGR you get can basically get cred for being an asshole. I like to go there when I am angry ... or when I am interested in what 55 year old Dentists, who think they are 30 year old shredders have to say.
