GoPro Filming

Sup NS,
I need some advice on filming and editing with the GoPro Hero 3+. I'll be using it as a follow cam, not just POV shots. So, what are the best shooting modes, mounting positions, accessories, ways to use, tips on editing with GoPro Studio, things like that. I have the pole and helmet mount, but I can also use the head strap on the cuff of my boot. I'm thinking about getting the frame, hoping for much better audio. What is the audio like when using the frame compared to the housing?

#1: If you are deadset on using POV use multiple angles. An edit with a single view and lack luster skiing is boring as fuck. An edit with multiple angles is much more entertaining (abe's videos... decent skiing but super entertaining).

#2: Saturation. Make the video have vibrant colors it helps a lot.

#3: Duct tape: Tape your go pro anywhere you want and try out new angles without having to buy mounts.

If your skiing is not super pro level it's boring to watch. Mix up the angles and include some variety.

Try stay close if using it as a follow cam. GoPro's have a small focal point distance for POV shots, so if the skiers too far in front it probably wont make for great video

Shoot on 1080p 60fps or 720p 120fps for Super buttery so mo. Also for filming follow cam I would recommend a go pole, cam caddie scorpion or just a Mario cart wii remote lol

when using a pole filming others have the gopro up side down, dangling and change the mode so it films upside down! Your get much steadier filming let gravity do all the hard work! works for me

for a pole i also just cut an old ski pole put some tape on the end and i got a pole mount much cheaper and i think most the poles are pretty crap unless you spend bare dollar

Abe kislevitz stuff is pretty specific for skiing... he did a few tutorials on ns when he was more active a while ago. Look at the links.

When follow caming make sure you are pretty much right on the skiers ass. Kinda scary but they will fill the frame better and have less negative space. Also put a chesty strap on backwards for jumps and just be right in front of them, cool view plus puts you out of the way if they wreck.

Have you even downloaded it?
