i ride salomon boots, love em. i've got an old ass pair of salomon carving skis, which i won't even comment on, other than, after 6 years, the foam core equals a wet noodle.

which is why i don't like the 1080's. they're too fat, and too chattery/light for my tastes. i'd love it if i got a pair of scream 10 xtra hot's, but i don't have any $$$ for those.

some of their boards are quite nice, but i personally am not a fan of the new 1080's.

salomon is going downhill. let them die. their skis suck, and they havent updated the 1080 for several years.

my 2003 1080's are a bit chattery, yeah. They're still a good ski, but im looking for a backcountry ski for next year, and I can tell you right now that I wont buy a pair of Pocket Rockets.

1080 boots however; I have no complaints, awesome boot, lightweight, comfy, near perfect. But dont go on my advice, get the boot that fits your foot the best, not the one that looks the coolest.
