Sugarbush Vs. Stowe

I skied Sugarbush for 3/4 years while I was at UVM. So much more fun than Stowe. The people that each mountain caters to is the biggest factor. Stowe has some really sick woods and their late season park was awesome last spring (I went twice in april). But Sugarbush is much more relaxed; less "image" people and a very good vibe in the park, which is very unique and it is hard to find an asshole skiing or boarding there. The Bush has some amazing trees, but they are more difficult to find than at Stowe. My vote obviously goes to Sugarbush, between Lincoln and Ellen they have everything Stowe offers plus more.

The only reason I can see picking Stowe of the Bush is if jumps are your main game. The Bush can make some nice jumps but they won't be as big or as plentiful, but their rail game is unmatched by anyone as far as uniqueness.

Stowe's parks are probably the best around. Backcountry like none other in the state. Definitely not as good vibes as the Bush, and Rt100 traffic sucks, if you can deal with that i'd go Stowe.

Stowe has the Matterhorn Bar too, so that's pretty damn great. Stowe can be stuck up though, it attracts the money crowd from NY and CT. My house is off the Toll Road chairlift though, so I'm biased as hell.

& why don't you guys ever make a larger park/more jumps??? i do love your creativeness, but a big ass booter or two would be fresh. the 25fters are eh :/

be honest with yourself. if you dont mind baby feature then youll love bush. if you want bigger hits and a flowy slopestyle park you need to do stowe.

honestly bush dropped the ball so fucking badly last year. the park hardly changed after january with the exception of a FEW added features. the jumps were wackkkkkk because the snowboarders at bush are huge pussies and never even hit/spin the 10 foot booters. worst of all, the lifts were a disaster at bush last year. heavens gate was constantly closed on pow days which forced hour or longer waits on castlerock. if i wanted to wait an hour in line id go to six flags

They're both great but for different reasons. If you want to ski all park go Stowe. Sugarbush has really nice backcountry and more all-mountain skiing. But then again, if you're willing to hike Mt. Mansfield, on a good powder day there can be amazing backcountry.

Honestly, half the people there are assholes though. I've skied there all my life so I love the place, but when I broke my arm and ski patrol is trying to reset it in the base lodge, and the mountain manager comes over and say. "You're gonna have to move, some of the other skiers are complaining about this going on here" I lost almost all respect for the people there.

The size of the jumps doesn't have anything to do with snowboarders being pussies but the amount of snowmaking allocated to the park, as well as the amount of space thats required to build proper jumps. A legit jump line would require 1/3 of the space on the trail. If you look at other parks that have these types of jump lines the entire park maybe will have 25 features in it. Lets keep in mind when the park is at its peak we have 60+ features on one trail. Hopefully we will be in a position to have more parks and better jumps.

^ hopefully you will soon. my comment about boarders being pussies was directed at the fact that the park seems to be snowboard inspired with a very low demand for big jump hits. All im saying is if youre a skier who craves big hits then sugarbush just doesnt have it. It certainly sounds like youre saying its a bit of an issue with management with definitely makes sense. the fact that sunny D shut down along with mt ellen was a giant shame, as an example.

dont get me wrong tho. big ups to sugarbush parks because the setups were always on point. Im exaggerating a bit because hardly anyone seems to have an issue with the size of features
