Yo. So I just bought some Fischer X17 bindings for a great price and I'm happy I finally got some but I have a question about the heel mechanism.

First off, I have used mojo 13(?)s before and felt they were a solid binding, but I heard that the peak 18 (same as the x17s I'm guessing aside from din) that the heel had a high elastic travel but when I used the 13s they were more like a salomon click in than an fks click in.

Anyone know the answer?

Not sure I full understand the question, but the Fischer X17 is the same mold as the Tyrolia Peak, Head Mojo, and 4frnt Deadbolt. So if you've already ridden the head mojo, it's the same exact binding, just a higher DIN. I'm guessing you're referring to the elasticity thinking that the turn table heel on the FKS is what that means. While the turn table heel offers a higher elasticity than pretty much any other binding, it doesn't mean that no other binding has elasticity (because all bindings have some level of elasticity). Elasticity is basically the amount of travel a binding will allow before it releases (either side to side or up and down).

So what this means for your bindings is that the X17 offers more range of motion before the binding will release than say the Mojo 13.

Man I'm terrible at explaining stuff. I have a full understanding of all binding terms with din elasticity, forward pressure, etc. I also have a few pairs of fks 14s that I like, but to clarify, I know all about the elastic travel on the fks bindings. What I am wondering is what the elasticity is for the x17s.

I know that peak 15/18s are the same as the x17s but in case someone knew the specs on the peak series but didn't know they were the same binding as the Fischer's I wanted to clarify. Basically I want to know if the x17s are going to have a similar click in to salomons which I found have barely any elasticity, or if they have a noticeable amount of elasticity

To me they usually feel a bit looser than the STH, but all Tyrolia based bindings feel that way to me.

I have the x9's and never really had pre-release issues even skiing moguls a lot. I'm also pretty light and not very agrressive in the park though so that may not be much help for you.

The 13 has a different toe/ heel. The heel on the 13 turns a slight amount, on the 15/18/17 it doesn't. I prefer the 15+ bindings in the peak series a lot more for the toe/ heel. I'm pretty sure the FKS has more travel in it than the Tyrolia but you probably won't notice much difference other than placebo shit.

Yea i already knew there was a big quality difference between the 13 and the high din models. I read somewhere that Tyrolia made their peak series and all correlating bindings to have a higher retention for switch landings in the park. I do not know if this is true or not, but If the retention were to translate to more elastic travel, I would love to know.

Also I read that the x17s have a ramp of 4 degrees, but I thought they were supposed to be like the pivot 18s at 0 degrees.

Can anyone clarify?
