3 days a week I hit up a 'free pool night' at a bar... Monday, Tues, and Thursday happy hr.

I've gotten back to how good I was in college when we had a table in the dorms.

haha i think everyone knows that real life pool is sick, but being able to play it on your phone has obvious advantages at times.....

ya dont knock miniclip pool till you try it, it is really fun. Not as good as real life pool, but a pool table is a lot harder to carry around than your phone.

also somewhat relevant i sunk my first masi shot(where you curve the cue ball, not certain about the spelling) last night at a bar. was super stoked/claim

I will say that video game pool actually helped me play real pool(used to play virtua pool on old school PC). Not only did the video game pool help me with actual pool, but it helped me understand the physics of pool a little better. Where each ball is going to end up after I hit it in a certain direction after however much force I use.

To sum it up: IMO virtual pool is good to get you the knowledge to play regular pool. Practice regular pool to get good at real pool.

Side notes: I feel regular pool is much more satisfying than virtual pool.

When you curve a ball for the first time or create a backspin on a ball the first time, you wont want to go back to virtual pool.

Agreed, I find it also helps with strategy, sinking a ball isn't as much of problem, so you are able to start thinking about how to plan your attack and where to try to leave the cue ball

my grandfather who taught me how to play has a saying(might be common advice, not sure) "it's not what you take, it's what you leave that matters" I think virtual pool gelps beginner players understand this better

I used to play yahoo pool and chat with people. Also down loaded some thing to cheat. I just liked making ridiculous shots without any effort. Nothing like cheating in a fake pool game to make you feel good about yourself.

Same when I was in middle school. It always confused me because I thought it was so damn easy because it drew a line where your ball was going to go for you. I consistently wrecked people and I didn't understand why it wasn't easy for them too. It's something that still baffles me to this day.
