So while the media seems to be concentrating on the whole ISIS fiasco, an Islamist jihad group in Africa called Boko Haram has been engaging in warfare with the Nigerian government trying to establish their own caliphate.
Over the summer a group of 200+ school girls were captured and held hostage. Immediately after every good American liberal made a big deal over it and the social media scene exploded. Unfortunately it had little effect, the girls were written off as good as dead because they had either been sold into slavery, married off, or killed, and everyone seemed to forget about it.
FORTUNATELY the Nigerian government managed to come a truce (lets see how long it lasts) with Boko Haram, and part of the truce apparently involves the return of these school girls. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-29665165?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_breaking&ns_source=twitter&ns_linkname=news_central
