Where I live all the mountains are shit. The only good by me one is big boulder. I'm thinking of going to mountian creek this season any know any thing about it? Is it good is it not or any other mountains on the east coast not to far away. By the way I live in North Pocono,PA, and if you know any other mountains please no more than 4 hours away.Thanks.

Mountain creek is crowded as FUCK... Some of the kids there are assholes, and same with the staff.

They have the south peak dedicated to park but it is invaded with gapers and parents (they got rid of the park pass exam). They also decided to move the racers off the main mountain to south peak... (awesome idea)

The park is really decent. There are just too many people, so there are ruts everywhere and the park crew cant tend to all the features on the mountain so 70% of the jumps or rails you hit will have some deformity or problem.

Tldr, dont make the trip if you have to drive over 2-3 hrs. I live on long island, so the drive for me is pretty short.

That's from 2007. I doubt that still happens there to that extent. But yeah... that's what you get on east coast nights and thousands kids from school groups hit the same feature a few quadrillion times.

Without having a ~2:30-3pm park grooming session where that snow can firm up as the suns going down that tends to happen and there's not much diggers can do about it except shut it down and piss people off.

yea but its icy and sloppy as fuck. Not to mention, the high cascade camp takes over the whole pipe for like 50 % of the day

I think youre better off going to boulder from the poconos. youd have a longer season and more variety in rail/jump features since they change their setup more frequently. mountain creek is pretty impressive for a resort located in new jersey, but it has its downsides. It gets heavily crowded on the weekends and the season is pretty short

I got a season pass there last year and broke my arm on my second day because the conditions were so shitty I had to hike some hip jump bullshit all day landing on flat

The park is long but the conditions are pretty shitty. You are better off going to big boulder. The season is longer and because it's right on the lake they get a shit load more natural snow and it's colder so never bad conditions. And the whole mountain is pretty much dedicated to park

I'll be skiing primarily out of Big Boulder this year with random Saturdays at blue mountain to hit their air bag

Ok thanks everyone. I'll probably just head up to boulder most of the season,but one more thing is hunter mountain any good because my friend is going there this season and asked me to go and I don't want to go if the park is shit.

Blue Mountain is by far the best mountain in the Poconos. Only problems are it is crowded as fuck on the weekend and a lift ticket is 65 bucks.

Unless you want to go all the way out to Seven Springs I would say Blue and Elk are the nicest places in Pa

Blue mountain doesn't usually have upper sidewinder open until mid to late January and they get a lot more rain than boulder. Usually when it is raining at Blue it is snowing at Boulder.

There's a reason Boulder has some of the biggest jumps on the east and can have a May Day when all the other poconos mountains lost the last of their snow a month earlier

Mountain creek is fun during non busy times like early morning or late season. Fun park to lap.

Hunter is a real mountain compared to Boulder and Creek and could be packed on weekends too. There are a few other mountains in the Catskills as well worth checking out
