What year did you join NS?

Newschoolers! I just realized that I'm almost up to 3 years on newschoolers... I know that's still a short time, but it is also longer than a lot of people now. I know you can check how long members have been on, but then you can only do one at a time. So I think it would be cool to see how long all of you have been a member. Also, what made you join, and how old were you?

I joined because I heard about the site from a friend and thought it was awesome! I was 15 at the time.

I originally joined NS in late 2003 (2004 on this current user name) and I did it to watch a video my buddy posted on NS. Back then, you had to be a member to watch videos, so I joined and shortly after that I found the forums, got banned and had to make a new user name (current), now 10 years later im here still.

and i've been here since around 2000, lurked until 2001ish when i watched propaganda and just had to "blog" (as my friends referred to it) about how sick it was!

oops my b, i didn't answer the poll (great poll btw, i hope a lot of people answer it so we can see a decent sample in the answers) last time or elaborate like you asked

i can't quite remember how i first found NS... around that time my knowledge of the ski world was mostly poor boyz and the line website (i had been a skiboarder beforehand haha), and the jibbin forums (is that what they were?)

maybe i saw an NS logo in a video or something? or a camp of champs vid or brochure?

I had always heard/read the name newschoolers, but never checked it out. I guess I always just had the preconceived notion that it was just a bunch of kids acting like idiots and not really that much of a ski website. Then one day I checked it out in earnest and made an account to respond to a forum post.

Low and behold I was partially right and I apparently fit right in.

saw the site maybe a year before i joined in 2007, wasnt overly interested before then. started posting probably 2008 or 2009, a while after joining. found out from my brother i believe.

a friend of mine was making money in the buy/sell forum so i thought i would check it out.

i watched like 2 hours of videos and saved every picture i thought was cool. shortly after that i made an account.

2008, which seems kind of two thousand and late compared to a lot of people. That said I've loved just about every second I've spent on here since (a LOT of seconds, btw)

I made an account in 2006 to watch videos of Ian Compton since he went to my middle school. I forgot my login info and made this account in 2008 when I wanted to start buying and selling gear. Then things got out of hand and I ended up devoting most of my high school career to NS and TGR. I like to think of you guys as my high school friends...

I think it was 2001. Introduced by my buddy Darryl Hunt standing at Blue Mountain riding the park. Typical "Dude you gotta check out Newschoolers" type scenario.

Met Harvey at a Snow Jam about a year later where I was volunteering.

Rest is history.

Yeah I hope enough people answer, I'm quite curious now haha. And haha cool story, love the skiboarding history

2004 is when i joined for real and set up account etc. but i was lurking on NS since 2001, but 2004 is when i made the life altering decision to become a member of the NS family lol haha. but no regrets either. great site back then and now . props NS .

I joined early 07. I think most of the 07 people were due to 4bi9. I was watching the hephi edit on youtube before I joined NS.
