Pretty much. All the Colorado resorts are good for is parks, except A-Basin maybe. I hear PCMR is in the same boat. Northstar is shit, Heavenly is ok I guess.

A-Basin is awesome but it's pretty small. Worth going to if you're in Colorado, but not worth going to Colorado for (unless it's early/late season when pretty much everywhere else is closed).

The only good thing about the Vail resorts in Colorado is the Lake Chutes at Breckenridge. (A-Basin is part of the epic pass but is not owned by Vail, A-Basin is awesome.) The skier's right part of the Lake Chutes involves a several meter (i.e. 6-12 foot) drop off a cornice landing on a rock-laced 50-something degree slope. (Very steep. Double black diamonds are typically around 30 degrees; 50+ degrees seems near-vertical when looking down at it.) As much as I hate Vail, and as boring as Vail resorts are in general, the Lake Chutes contain some of the most awesome lines I have ever skied. If you go even further to skier's right there's an awesome chute that's very steep and narrow and has a pretty gnarly exit. To skier's left of all the gnarly stuff (still technically in the Lake Chutes) is gaper tier, just standard double black terrain.

OP it would help if you tell us how good of a skier you are and what terrain you like. If you're an expert and like gnar, the Lake Chutes are what I would recommend. If you are not an expert I would strongly recommend against them so you don't get yourself killed. They're very fun, but not worth getting yourself killed for. Almost, though.

I agree with the lake chutes recommendation. Also explore the e-chair/ windows area and the trees on either side. There's nothing excessively gnar but there's some great, steep tree lines if you find the right places.

A-basin great hiking when its open, small otherwise but good stuff, fun partying as well

Keystone great park, some fun cat stuff i geuss, ok cruisers to blast, feels long

Breck even better park, lake chutes epic, windows are great, large amount of terrain

Vail epic cliffs everywhere, back side is great and less crowded, avoid the front

Beaver Creek must ride World Cup course, great cruisers, cant talk much about BC only been there once.

What the fuck are you smoking? Beaver Creek has some excellent terrain, cliffs, and fun groomers to haul ass on. (id say best of any Vail owned resort) South side of 10 is always fun or Ballroom to always find some nice freshies (Breckenridge). 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 at Breck have good drops and snow (when they're actually open) Freeway and A51 are the shit, Brecks jumps are top notch. Blue Sky is fun on weekday powder days.
