Sh4dowGo to Kirkwood and shred the gnar and skip the rest.
Also this.
caucasian_chadPretty much. All the Colorado resorts are good for is parks, except A-Basin maybe. I hear PCMR is in the same boat. Northstar is shit, Heavenly is ok I guess.
Sh4dowA-Basin is awesome but it's pretty small. Worth going to if you're in Colorado, but not worth going to Colorado for (unless it's early/late season when pretty much everywhere else is closed).
The only good thing about the Vail resorts in Colorado is the Lake Chutes at Breckenridge. (A-Basin is part of the epic pass but is not owned by Vail, A-Basin is awesome.) The skier's right part of the Lake Chutes involves a several meter (i.e. 6-12 foot) drop off a cornice landing on a rock-laced 50-something degree slope. (Very steep. Double black diamonds are typically around 30 degrees; 50+ degrees seems near-vertical when looking down at it.) As much as I hate Vail, and as boring as Vail resorts are in general, the Lake Chutes contain some of the most awesome lines I have ever skied. If you go even further to skier's right there's an awesome chute that's very steep and narrow and has a pretty gnarly exit. To skier's left of all the gnarly stuff (still technically in the Lake Chutes) is gaper tier, just standard double black terrain.
