Question that needs answers

Last year I broke my fks brakes real bad and they had to be sent to utah to be fixed. The local ski shop did this for free because they were still under warranty. They said they can put the fks back on once its fixed but if it brakes again I'll have to ship them to utah and pay for all the cost. Or they could put on a pair of look px12 for free and simply fix them at the shop if they brake. Thanks
