Hey NS, Slvsh is a freeski matchup league similar to what Stept's Skate on Snow was. We've filmed 12 games so far. The first game, Noah Morrison vs Noah Wallace, drops tomorrow, October 14th, on http://www.slvsh.com

Henny starting out his SLVSH career perfect, probably going to win it all. Can't see anyone else getting him at this park. Maybe if A-Hall gets to the finals he'll start pulling some of those Pep style reverts.

shoutout to hunter for being able to keep up with some of those later tricks. Some of the camera angles on his shots were to tier shoutout to the filmers

To say Harlaut is one of the most stylish and creative skiers around he is definitely the most boring rider to watch in this cup.

Not sure if Hess was just entirely off his rail game, or if he's just not that great at rails to begin with. In the QF, he was ripping the jumps, and I would have liked to see a little more of that. Also, I'm not 100% sure on the rules, but wasn't there supposed to be a switch of set after three letters or something? Does that not happen in the SFs?

I love henrik but damn man stop repeating your tricks/lines from previous games. Plus i think that slvsh should minimize the number of rails in a line to 2

Hess should have used the jump to mix things up a bit. When Dollo is that consistent in rail game ( not saying that he is not consistent on jumps) you cannot beat him that's for sure. Still a good game to watch.

I agree. Those lines are definitely preparation he's using to his advantage. BUT to make a comparison from the game of chess; There's moves you prepare before a game and make sure you got them on lock, and try to catch your opponent off guard to win the game (just to say it very very simple). On the highest level this is how you win games, and I think this can be applied to SLVSH to some extent, which we're seeing from Henrik right now. It's definitely good strategy for him, no matter if he's been preparing these lines & tricks or just got them from skiing that park everyday.
And let's not forget; Henrik has a lot of X-games medals and is an extremely experienced skier, so there's very few that can match him at all. In my opinion A-hall is the only one that has a real chance against him with his bone-bending maneuvers. Quinn is ofc a very talented skier as well, but Henrik is just on a higher level, simple as that.
I'm not so sure the result would be so different if this was SLVSH cup Perisher either.

This actually brings an interesting point for future SLVSH cups that riders shouldn't be able to repeat sets round to round. Might be hard to track but would ultimately up the level of skiing each round.

He's also only 18. He still has time to tweak his style a bit. But I think it's impressive how far he got into the cup considering most of us had not heard of him before.

Henrik was skiing like he wasn't even playing a game of slvsh, just cruising along doing his thing.

I get the complaints about lack of variety but it wasn't like he was calling absurdly hard tricks. All of the lines came down to consistency in flow, not just being able to do one hit at a time. He won by grinding down Hunter on fundamentals, not by calling overly difficult or risky tricks

He was pretty clean earlier in the game....then Henrik got up on him and he got reallll sloppy.

- Nah, you either have style or don't. It's not something that an already pro skier is going to all of a sudden grow into like you suggest.

- 18 is a pretty ripe age in this sport. You act like he is young and novice, that's far from the case.

- Not really that surprising, he has a super deep bag and is really consistent.

- Kid has for sure been around for a few seasons now. He is on the U.S. Ski team, podium at the Aspen Open, rode in Dew Tour. He is far from unknown.

I've just always thought his style is really boring whenever I've watched his instaclips and stuff. With that said, he can do all the tricks and can get pretty creative too. If he had crisp style he would be way more popular

Yeah I agree in that his success doesn't necessarily depend on the park. He'd probably apply the same strategy and have the same success anywhere where there is a rail line. That said, there is something to be said about home court advantage and having a seasons worth of time developing muscle memory on a flow of features.

I think he's really showing his comp skier side just linking stock tricks with a lot of consistency. It's admirable he can do all of this with such consistency, but it is also fair to say that it makes it pretty boring. Of course it's still a contest, so why not employ a boring strategy that ensures success? It's fair. The only way to beat him is just to keep the set away from him, because ultimately he can get to the end of rails more than anyone else.

Me and my buddy were just saying the same thing the other day. With how popular SLVSH is i'm really interested to see how it grows over the next couple years. If something like realski is an event I can picture slvsh making it to a much bigger stage. To put it in perspective, Henrick's quarterfinal game from 3 days ago already has more views that Phil's gold medal realski dropped over a month ago. This comp obviously has a huge audience, really curious to find out what the slvsh guys will do with it.

Henrik has one of the best styles in skiing and has always been a great innovator, so I don't get why he isn't mixing it up more. I can't believe I'm saying this but, his games have been some of the least fun to watch. Especially with people like Quin, Tom, Hugo, Johan and the rest bringing in unusual and progressive tricks

This might have influenced how Henrik was playing. I mean let's be honest no one wants to lose to someone almost 10 years younger in their own terrain park lol.

It's weird how much different games can cause different uproars lol. One game someone is calling doubles and everyone is like "its a dick move to call doubles". So like any really challenging or specific trick that an opponent knows the other opponent won't be able to do, like Tom's bio 10 stale is a dick move. But then Henrik, who's crazy consistent, does rail lines that he knows from skiing Grand Valira all winter, and then people are up in arms because it's boring.

I understand each of those, but its kind of hard to judge people for their sets. As much as Slvsh is made for our entertainment, not every skier will be like "what will be most entertaining for people at home", they will think "what can I do to win this game and not find myself in a situation where I get totally skunked".
