Hey NS, Slvsh is a freeski matchup league similar to what Stept's Skate on Snow was. We've filmed 12 games so far. The first game, Noah Morrison vs Noah Wallace, drops tomorrow, October 14th, on http://www.slvsh.com

Sad to see Hugo go, especially with the loose grab calls on Finn’s part :( but still a fuckin banger of a game and Finn is a beast, excited for the coming games

totally agree that reffing should be looser on defense. Maybe not with some standard shit like a 2 on pretz 2 out but when you have guys trying sketchy stuff for the first time, a little shuffle on the landing, or a small backslap or hand touching should be allowed as long as the trick was completed correctly and they rode away. If you tried your first ever cork 7 and landed a little off balance and put your hand out a little to stabilize yourself would you not go tell all your friends you landed a cork 7? Don't need to stomp tricks for them to count IMO, especially on defense.

skiP.E.I.Kinda silly to say Oscar is a better skier. I'm not saying Vinnie is a better skier than Oscar either tbh, although Vinnie has a more innovative approach and seems less comp focused. There aren't many (if any) big air jumps that have matched that kind of technicality to this day.

Vinnie is definitely a more innovative skier I can't argue that, although in a different since Oscar is a bit more innovative than the average comp jock, Have you seen his switch dub backflip blunts? Fucking fire. But he is after all a comp skier and can throw all kinds of unat dubs, both way rail combos and so on. If he had got the set back and started throwing down the kind of tech rail lines that we've been seeing in the other games, or just going buck off the jump with all kinds of dubs, Vinnie would have been finished.

Couldn't believe the ref wouldn't give Hugo a pass on that last attempt. Hugo was on defense, at match point and finn had a pass for a very similar "touch" on the sw cork 3. But hey it's whatever, very good game nevertheless.

Subtle shade on Finn for calling that last switch dub to the right, which I believe is his natural direction to spin switch and Hugo's unatty. Seems like a low blow and it would have been more sportsmanlike to differentiate the spin direction between left/right and nat/unatty.

I guess i'm just kinda bummed Hugo is out :(

Finn and Hugo was a hard one to watch as I really like both of them.

Reffing was a little odd in this one and i can see why Hugo fans are kinda bummed at this one.

Im pretty sure Hugo spins right naturally? Watch his past games - every trick he calls without specifying direction is spun to the right.

Does anyone else feel like the riders aren't using the entire park during the slvsh games? Like the horseshoe rail was only called once by jesper and I havent seen anyone use the blue wall ride or the down c rail. Plus I feel like I've seen the black down to donkey and then the flat to down like 5 times in each game. Are these rails just too hard to do tricks on and they dont want to lose their set?

How can one be so consistent in doing ridiculous spins off of rails. Like seriously Taisei looked like he had no trouble throwing an 11 off a rail, but either way switch 4s got to him. Great game Colby showing some good stuff

Colby was definitely more tech, but Taisei was coming close to a lot of the tech grabs. In a game of slvsh he might not get them, but give him 3 or so tries and he has it.

I’d actually say taisai did t look consistent at all. I feel like this game really showed how he’s pretty much only has spin outs and can’t do anything else.

Didnt watch/know much about Finn before this but he seems like a chill dude and solid skier. Down South accents are just cool to see on skiers as well.

Emil vs. Vin$, what an entertaining game. Emil is really steezy. I love how Vinny calls those OG tricks, paying tribute to the Quebecois legends. Personal assessment, Emil's 180continuing180 could have passed, it didn't look THAT far off Vinny's and was last letter defence. Still so sick though and overall good reffing.

Hate to see it end like that though I would have give Emil the pass on that.
Defense calls for greater margin for error, that was as close to perfect without being perfect as you can get. Bummer. Oh well

Remember that Henrik said after the first x-games big air that required spinning both ways to bring back the old format because he wanted Vinny$ to be in it again.
