AbiHPreach it sister
izzy150000Lol could not be truer. Carrying heavy things and sitting around waiting for stuff to happen
AbiHHaha essentially! So ridiculously fun though! Where do you patrol at?
izzy150000Wild Mountain in Taylor’s Falls, MN. It’s a super small family owned hill. What about you?
AbiHNeat!! Used to patrol in Red River,NM, I’m in medic school though so not much patrolling this year:/
izzy150000That’s so cool! Well now you’re gonna be legit so I think u have an excuse😂
AbiHHaha totally! Tiz the plan😝
danicaI really want some blends but I’m 5’2 (looking for something around 158) and they start a little tall. It’s hard to find Women’s skis that aren’t all mountain or pretty stiff. And all the super buttery men’s skis (Vishnus, blends, all plays) seem to start tall. I raced in high school and I’m kinda over long and heavy skis. I’m not all that worried about stability I just want a fun ski. Currently riding on some old line shadow 135s that I’ve since I was like 12 lol foam core is shottt
ErikaaaCan we just appreciate the advertisements on ns right now idek
klingiskingAnyone live in Oxford UK ? Or live in United Arab Emirates ( UAE , Dubai )?
Holla if you do ~
AbiHDang wish I was! It’d be dope to ski with you!
klingisking( dont know how to post and reply etc on newschoolers,) but Will be in Oxford for the summer and UAE in the fall ~
MinggTonight I learned that iphones delete text messages after a year so all of my text messages between my brother and I are gone. I miss him.

I need help not stepping up on to rails. I can’t keep my feet together when I do a down rail even tho I am popping enough to clear it. Any tips?

ErikaaaAyeee - I've been there. Try to take it ALOT slower coming up to the rail. Really focus on a strong upwards pop rather than letting the lip send you further down onto the rail. Esp since it's a down rail, you don't need that speed at all right now.
Hope that makes sense!
CyanicenineI wish I was good enough to even hit urban style rails. I can only hit ride on fat tubes and boxes. You're killing it as far as I'm concerned. Post another video of your progress and please do share tips for the rest of us.

Just send it. Falling is not as scary as it seems. And lean into the downhill foot on rails when going sideways. Both of these tricks I just learned today and this is my first year skiing so if I can do it so can you! Also don’t be afraid to post progress.

CyanicenineWow, I think you've been lucky with your falls. I seem to have catastrophic rail failures where my entire leg turns black for over a month and then I stop trying to do rails for awhile. I have way better body armor this season though, and have been just going for it and it's been okay, making some slow progress. I attempted to street style onto a long capped tube today (those things scare me because the ends are sharp, and I know from experience how much it sucks to fall on the end of one). At one point the slush got a bit deeper and I went to pop, went no where cause the slush soaked my pop, and then nailed my ski tip on the end cap and super man tacoed the rail. Wish I had it on video. My knee slammed into the rail first and then I just sort of bear hugged it after that, it was fine because my knee pads are burly. I don't know how anyone survives learning rails without armor. I'm getting closer though, once I nail a decent slide I'll try and post it. I know my biggest problem is commitment, but I also know some of my worst slams have happened when was fully committed. Amazing job for your first season.
JP_JPI just let my body go limp and hope for the best 😂😂 I broke some ribs about two weeks ago because I tried to get up from a rail fall. But that’s about it. I fall wayyy to much tho
CyanicenineOh man, I've heard broken ribs are terrible, heal up fast. I'm too old to think I have any sort of career hopes in skiing so I generally just try to keep things mellow and progress slow. Be careful out there, unless you're looking to make a career out of skiing it's not always worth it to go so hard you break yourself off. I was just listening to Jen Hudak talk at a women's action sport event last spring about how she's looking at a total knee replacement soon on top of all the other injuries she's sustained and she's not even 35. She seemed pretty bummed about not being able to ski anymore without extreme pain, although she's enjoying mountain biking since the bike is easier on her joints. At least she had a good career for awhile, but it sucks the high price she paid for it. To me, I don't know if I would think it was worth it, to have lifelong pain, but I guess that's why I'm not a competitor. My point is stay safe out there, and look out for future you.

Andy03The trick is: 1. Comitment. If you are scared you dont jump with both feets, you try to step seperately (video with the flatdownflatdown tube) 2. Look to the end of the obstacle. You always slide to the direction where u are looking to. If you jump on it and you look on the middle of the rail or the beginning, you will never slide to the end. Start to look at the end of the obstacle if you are on the kicker.
Thats the tricks that ive learned in the past 2 months and they are always working for me.
JP_JPCome on more parallel. If you come into the feature at an angle, the chances are you’re going to come off the other side.
How it should look. What you’re prolly doing

MinggCan't wait to get a 4am call asking for a ride home...even after saying I wasn't doing it anymore.
There is still a chance that I won't get that call, but it's getting late and it's usually a you get home at 11pm or 4am kind of thing. Nothing in between.
So now I can't sleep because I'm worried that if I wake up at 4, I will be extra tired at 6. But since it is 12:30, I'm going to be tired no matter what. But if I don't sleep, I don't have to wake up but I'll feel super bad all day tomorrow. Or I sleep a little bit, have to wake up(ugh) and feel just bad instead of super bad. Decisions.
safarisamExtremely wicked was a good film, I liked it. Didn’t really show any murders and focused on the court case instead.
Also Zach Effort is hot so there’s that...
Sharkie14I just watched this last night!! That movie is based on the ex girlfriend’s point of view. I thought it was really well done. And I agree, he’s not hard to look at EVEN as a serial killer. Lmao.
AbiHWhat film is this!?
