I was at a ski shop and I needed my skis mounted so I did and it ended up that when they were finished it wasn't the mount I wanted. I told him to mount as close to the center as possible. He must have taken that in a different way because I just have a regular mount on my skis now. I am planning to get them remounted. Should I do anything about them doing it wrong? Or was that just on me. And if I get it remounted is their any way to fill in the hole where the previous bindings were? Thanks in advance.
To be honest i don't know why you said "as close to centre as possible" as that doesn't give them an exact idea of where you want them mounted, did you want them mounted true centre? -1 from centre? Further back than that? If you don't know then I'd say you should go with recommended which is probably what they did. Ski companies recommend a mounting point for a reason and you should only stray away from that if you know exactly what you want. It also depends on the ski and what you're using it for. For instance, I have my Thalls at true centre and my JJ's at -3 from true centre.
they fill in the holes with little plastic nubs that they hammer in and then scrape the top so its flush and there's not just a gaping hole in your ski
