How do the gopro athletes take such good photos from in the air? Do they take a video and screenshot it? Or do they have a timer on the burst mode and use that.. If thats how, how do you set the timer to take it when youre in the air?
Personally, to get photos of myself in the air, I just screenshot the video. I feel like a lot of others do that too just because it's pretty easy to do. But then again, I've never tried burst mode.
For the best quality you want to put it in one of the photo modes, the newer cameras have a lot of different options. I would guess they have it set to take photos every half second (or faster).
You can pull frames from video but it's kind of hit or miss. If you shoot on a higher framerate (60, 120) you'll have less chances for blurring but the resolution is going to be a lot lower (1080P video is only 2 megapixels). There's a pretty huge quality difference between shooting photos and grabbing a frame from the video.
Yeah I actually do the burst or every half second thing a lot, because, as someone said above, it's basically hit or miss with taking a screenshot, using the actual photo mode will give ou better stuff
