How can you deny gods existence when there are so many proofs of him existing?
Jesus walked on water.
God spoke to Moses on mount Sinai.
He did create our world in 6 days, and rested on the last (sunday).
isn't this proof enough? Or do you want more?

How the fuck can you deny it with these answers right in front of ya? I'm a nice guy, and all I want for yall is to shred in heaven. It aint too late to change, god is merciful.

But it depends from the view, from a Judeo Christian perspective, you don't need to capitalize God since they don't directly name him god.

Okay. What is your belief on the origin of matter? I say belief because no one knows, and that question is the fundamental origin question pertaining to a possible higher power.

Why would you want to put your faith and trust in something or someone that has the power that a god is said to have, and then leaves the world looking like it does today, or like it has throughout history?

Ya know how parents need to loosen the reigns on their teenagers at some point and let them make some decisions and mistakes for themselves? its a neccessary part of maturation and development.

The thinking is along those lines, that God gives us free will and the freedom to make mistakes and decisions.

Additionally, you are assuming that this earthly life is the only life we will live, or atleast the most important one. So what happens here is of the highest order of importance. Maybe this is just a blip in our Soul's long, long life and just feels like a long time.

Which would you rather have, a 1984 big-brother God, or a God that allows for freedom of choice and self determination? that is the thinking anyways.

I don't really know anyone that denies god exist, definitely talking to the organized religion sense. but you can't disapprove it, just like I can't just prove or disprove that a unicorn really made the universe.

There's just no real need for him to exist, and the purpose of existence is not carbon based lifeforms going to a magical place after they stopped breathing.

We have more evidence to support the big bang theory than we do that god exists. Just use some fucking logic people.

Yes but that doesn't matter. The bible states that the earth was created in 6 days by god.

We have far more proof showing that the earth was actually created by cosmic dust collecting and colliding over billions of years. That alone disproves the existence of god. And if you deny the science that is backing this up you are just being ignorant/illogical (though I don't expect many religious people to have a solid foundation of logic anyways)

All you are disproving is the literal interpretation of the bible...

God could have been the guiding force to ensure the right dust was in the right place at the right time to create the conditions neccessary for the creation of Earth.

The Christian god yes you're right, but by somebody believing there's a higher being with no organized religious affiliation thats what you can't disprove or prove.

I'm pretty sure but I can't say without a doubt. on a scale of 1 to 10 im at about a 9 he doesn't exist. there's no need for him we know how most of the things in the universe works. and if I was to meet him I would ask him why he made himself so hard to find because nothing in science suggest that he magically made everything.

If this isn't the only life we have, that's awesome. But we don't know that, so I'm not about to waste it.

And I would rather have a god that made things good, than a god drunk on power trying to prove some fucking point or whatever. If this is a god "parenting" earth (stupid fucking analogy), he's not doing it very well. Honestly, fuck yo god.

So fucking fed up with pointless religion. Can people give it a rest already..

So you really think there's a possibility that a singular being created the unimaginable vastness of even our own observable universe? Do you realize how absurd and farfetched that sounds?

I don't get why the majority of humans, even in this day and age, still default to "it being a higher powers doing" for things they can't explain. Its ridiculous.

Because being sure it was one thing and being sure it wasn't one thing are NOT the same thing. By assuming the hand of god was the guiding force in the creation of the universe, you limit that creation to ONE origin. By assuming otherwise, you open the doors to many questions to which we have (or will have) the capabilities to understand and answer.

Why limit yourself?

Oh no, Im agnostic leaning heavily towards atheism. But i was raised Lutheran and respect the hell out of religon. I also understand it and the faith required.

I take issue with ignorant, self-righteous, athiests like yourself who feel the need to denegrate anyone who holds a different, but similarly unprovable, belief than you.


If you can come up with a more likely scenario for the creation of all matter and the universe id love to hear it.

There is proof that the Bible is real. Whether you believe it is true or not is your decision. In Isaiah 53 (old testament) it predicts the coming of Jesus hundreds of years before it happens.

Basically, athiesm requires the subject to discredit a possible explanation based upon no other evidence than his own belief.

I never said I did, and yes, god is indeed one of those possibilities, but you seem to be trying to make the issue black and white. I have no problem with leaving open the possibility that a god created the universe. However, it is WRONG to consign yourself to the idea that the only explanation is that god created the universe. There are infinite other possibilities, and almost all of them are possible without arbitrary answers by humans. You can't "answer" a question as "god did it" just because we don't have any other answer. Otherwise school would be easy.

This passage is describing the late life of Jesus and his crucifixion on the cross nearly a thousand years before it happened.

I havent made anything black and white. Athiest and religous folks have...even though their philosophy is based upon faith and belief.

If you believe in the many shades of grey you dont prescribe to a religon, and are varying levels of agnostic.

I don't have one, nor do I have to. That's the beauty of it. It's a question, and it's one that I can't answer. One day someone is going to figure out how the universe came into existence, and it's going to be awesome. But prescribing now, without substantial evidence, that a god created the universe, undermines the quest for that discovery. "Oh no, don't worry guys, I know how the universe was formed." THAT'S why it's wrong.

People can believe what they want to believe. But to think that there's a god out there who is particularly favorable to humans or turn one's nose up at science because they're stuck on their beliefs is close-minded.

God fearing individuals aren't brave enough to question everything. It must suck, being forced to live in a boring plane of existence where all the answers have already been dictated to you.

Here's one last big difference: If science found evidence of something that disproved evolution or the big bang, we would eagerly accept that new information.

Religious people would run from it, as they always have and always will. The fear of information and wisdom is the fear of cowards.

You do understand that people are constantly reevaluating their beliefs and dealing with doubt constantly, right?

To think that non religous folks are the only people with open minds, is very close minded thinking...
